  • Spare Battery for MCX2

I am new to RC Helis so I am starting off with an MCX2, Which I am ordering from Midland Helicopters Ltd whilst they have their discount offers on. I am also going to order an MSRX at the same time for the same reason, but that will stay in its box until I get proficient on the MCX2 :-)

I am ordering spare blades, skids etc expecting the obvious crashes but I also want to order spare batteries. From what I read, I know I need to let the motor cool for 10 / 15 mins between batteries to avoid motor overheating.

What at I am unsure of is what batteries to order for the MCX2 so any advice would be appreciated.

    Regards
    Mark

Nothing ? No collective wisdom on batteries for 2 of the most common Helis ? Guess I will just have to try a few and see for myself.

I am sure the manual tells you what the std cells are Gixerman but as I said, I am ordering the Helis and the manuals tend to arrive at the same time The spec on the advertisers websites do tell the buyer which cells come with the Heli, but if I go into the MH or FL websites and look at OEM cells they are at a zero stock level.

Strangely Heli mfrs don't mention after market cells, who would have thought Likewise, kits of most things are made to a price and rarely come supplied with the best ancillary items so I thought coming on here as a newbee to ask was a good idea.

I have taken the time to read and understand what the numbers mean on Lipo cells but they don't tell you about VFM, quality, performance or physical fit, hence what I thought was a fair question. So if like DAN22 you would like to help feel free to respond further, if on the other hand you just want to try and make a newbee feel inferior by responding with smart ass comments you may as well go elsewhere.

m8 I sounds like you need a curismor bypass! I have tried to help by giving a link to a cheap, but quality parts from a good retailer, and will not help you further, good luck in your modelling career.
plus your second post could be taken as smart ass as you kindly put.

Go for at least a 25C 150mAh and you will be happy. Just stick to the stock ones they work great. Eflite or try these... Intellect 1S 160mah 25C Lipo Twin Pack-on order intellect batteries are very good.

I use the slightly larger intellect batteries for the mcpX and they are fantastic. Better than the stock eflite ones... Mine are now over a year old and many many cycles later are still going strong!
