Mine a pre facelift too, it's running a bar of boost, upgraded intercooler and a turbos back exhaust. It quite happily sat on the back of a 2004 Porsche carrera 4 round bruntingthorpe! The average boxter driver certainly takes a slap from it too. It's not so much the 312bhp it makes, more the 355lb/ft of torque it develops right across the rev range!

Plus I can fit pretty much every plane and heli I own in it in one go!

Boxsters deserve a slap LOL. Yeah I used to go rc buggy racing in mine! If you fold the seats down its perfect double bed size!! Takes glamping to the next level
Some say my left nipple is the shape of a Raptor canopy.......... And that for fun I chase sheep in wellies 3 sizes too big. All I know is I am 3D Clod

Took the 450 out again today, again too dark to do any proper flying but light enough to see it at least!

I really can't believe how much more stable it is, I even managed some really neat walking pace lazy 8's! Something I can't do with the Gaui, although that is flying much better now it has a new main shaft and some really nice ripmax 205mm carbon blades. It's much smoother and quieter but the 450 has made me realise just how lively the Gaui is!

Ok so I just crashed the 450!! I was doing some circuits and then started doing loops, all going well so I thought I'd try backdrop, they went well to start with too until for some reason I found my self inverted for too long and too low to the floor!

At least I got it the right way up before it went in! Damage isn't too bad, the only damage to any part of the rotor head was a slight bend in the flybar, the main damage is broken skids, cracked lower main frame, smashed up canopy and the boom alphas bent slightly down.

All the important moving parts survived unharmed thankfully! Hey ho, take in on the chin, repair and fly higher up next time! Lol

Yup! Problem is the thing just inspires confidence so it makes you feel like trying stuff on it! Just about got all the spares ordered now though, nowhere had the silver carbon frames in so ended up buying a used complete silver carbon frameset from the Bay.

                    gazmk2,
I just noticed you are in Didcot. Do you fly at any local club? I founded Oxon Helicopter Collective | Bringing RC Translational Lift To Oxfordshire with a few other guys several years ago but I no longer fly there as Spartan has its own flying site for testing. Neil, my technician, is still a member there and is flying most weekends if you want to go visit the club. And of course you are welcome to come visit at Spartan office in Steventon. I may be flying Saturday afternoon or Sunday; TBC once I speak with my flying buddy.

                    Cheers,
                    Angelos

Mate that would be wicked! I have been without a flying club all year so have been sticking with small foamies down the local playing fields! The 450 feel a bit iffy down there but I only fly during the weekdays when nobody is there.

I will be joining a club come January though as I can't be flying a 450 down the playing fields forever and wouldn't even think of flying anything bigger down there!

I have also paid an extortionate amount for the New bits to get here before 9am tomorrow so I'll have it back up and running tomorrow night.

I'll pm you my number dude as a heli club is just what I need! And a local one is even better!

                      Cheers.

Ladygrove or Edmunds park? The Oxon Heli Collective is now in Frilford (opposite Millets Farm) but it's best to speak to someone before you go look for it. PM your number and I'll give you a ring after work to arrange something.

Ladygrove mate, I live literally a 2 minute walk from the playing field next to the stadium. I can often be found flying gliders on the Wittenham clumps too.

Well after spending 2 days rebuilding my 450 its hit the deck once again! This time it wasn't my flying skills (or lack of!!)

Just 10 seconds to go until my timer went off to land and the blades decided to part company! One of the little bolts that secure the blade grips to the feathering shaft had come off (yes I threadlock, but maybe not enough?) and it went in once again!

Thankfully the worst damage was a smashed canopy, the boom was bent and the servo to swash links had broken but overall nothing major thankfully!

A massive thankyou to Angelos for inviting me over to fly behind the Spartan office, I was very impressed by the FPV setup you guys had! It looked like a lot of fun!

Right, brew on, broken heli to fix and errrrrrr oh yes just stuck a bid on a flybarless (not DFC) trex 550e!!

                            Cheers.
