  • TREX 450 heli kit

    hi all,

does anyone know the reason, why there is very few model shops selling trex 450 flybared helicopter kit?? i could only find trex 450 pro kit at midlands and all other places have ran out of stock.

align trex is one of the most popular brands in the market then how come there is little stock for the 450 sized helis or is it more likely that soon they will stop producing flybar heli kits?

would be great if anyone could shed some light on this.......

    thanks in advance

    regards
    md

probably little profit for a shop to stock such an old model.
I am sure if you contacted them they would supply one for you. it wouldn't be good business sense to stock unpopular superceeded kits.

They tend to stock the latest and most popular kits and flybarred kits in general are not selling much these days. FL have a Trex 450 sport V2 super combo. Also, if you want a flybarred 450 I can highly recommend the Beam E4. EvoRC have the E4 kits. I have an E4 and it is amazingly accurate for a flybarred heli of that size, the only downside is spares are not as easily available compared to the Aligns.

I guess it's also because there are now quite a few variants of the 450 kit so which do you stock.... You've got the Plus (both BNF & RTF), Plus DFC RTF, Sport, Pro, Pro DFC, and 2 versions of the Dominator...I'm sure I've forgotten a few!!

I have brand new Align Trex 450 Pro V2 Super Combo which I am selling. But cant sell it on the forum here until I reach 50 posts. I have just opened it to check it. Then changed my mind about it. Wanted a flybarless heli instead. Did have it on Gumtree but yesterday the advert expired. Message me if you want to know more. Better not say to much here as it isn't the For Sale section.

Hmm guys thanks for the information....

basically i have 2x mini titan brushless motor, stock esc, hitec cyclic and rudder servos and a quark gyro...also have almost new 2200 mah 4x lipos and a dx6i radio with sat and rx.....so i have to find a Align heli kit on which i can transfer all my current gears...

but with the dx6i radio my options are very limited....
i was thinking of getting a FBL helicopter but most of the FBL units need 7 channel radio....and i think i will also need different rx for FBL heli..this also makes my quark useless

to be honest it was a bad decision to invest on the mini titan since i am a beginner...and now looks like i need to invest couple more hundreds on a new FBL kit and other things that's needed to fly a fbl heli.

i was thinking of getting a blade eflite..but then again i have to get align kit since the person who is going to set the heli up strongly recommended me to get align...

anyways i hope there will be a nice Christmas discount soon and hopefully will get a FBL

actually really hard to make a decision....tough hobby :S

                  regards.

From where I see it your options are:

                    1) Buy a 450 Sport V2 bare kit (the one I linked to) and put all your gear in it (use your Quark) and learn to fly with it with your DX6i.
                    2) Buy a 450 FBL kit and an AR7200bx (other brands are available before anyone starts...) (sell your Quark to help with FBL costs) and use your DX6i to fly it.

In either case sell your mini Titans (plus any other kit you don't need) and use the cash from them to buy one of the above...just my opinion of course

although save the flybar founation says to stick with a flybar
the options are now limited as the in thing is fbl
we had carb smarts, 140* eccpm etc that were a passing phase

until the freaks turn out to be correct and everyone refits flybars back to their helis

Hi Kev, matey you are too generous...thanks for the offer ...but I think for now I should stick to my dx6i since I got it 3 months ago and it wont be fair on the poor radio if I stop using it....
