Me, I'd still go for the 450x for a number of reasons. Parts are more readily available. The AR7200BX is a well respected FBL unit. Horizon Hobby branch in the UK. More "hop ups" from the likes of Lynx, Fusuno etc.

In contrast, Thunder Tiger are a good brand, but I'm less certain of the GT5.1 FBL unit. Parts less readily available. Resale opportunities less clear. etc. The GT5.1 would require a sat too to connect to a DX8 I believe?

If you really want to avoid a 450X, then I'd head towards the Gaui X3 personally, but, I'm sticking with my 450X

I will say this regarding the Trex 450, be it SE V1, V2, Sport or Pro; There is a huge market in clone parts of every description, you can get all sorts of colours of fins and skids and you name it and things like shafts and gears cheap by the dozen from China. Basically you can bling them out a zillion different ways.

I am about to resurrect my 450SE that I used to fly and crash regularly. I pretty much stopped flying it when I got the 500 but a while back I got some bright orange Fusuno frames and fins, I just got some Savox servos and I'm going to convert it FBL and give it a new lease on life. (but I do like to tinker, if you don't then I'd say go for the 450X)

I've got my pro clone sat on the bench while i try to decide what to do with it. It was running on really cheap disposable servos but they wouldn't be up to fbl and while an hk fbl head is pennies the costs of an fbl unit is off-putting on a cheap heli unless one goes xyz or the fu-bar comes back. It may well stay flybarred and save some pennies to fbl another 90-size.
Look at the tarot 500.. quality excellent and one of the few clone 500's to have the dropped front frame for easier battery sizing. With gorilla skids and an ally bottom late a lot of the weak points are sorted. Clone gear prices and clone booms take care of crash costs and HK blades work fine fbl as a basher. I used to buy HK canopies in dozen lots in my crash heyday. It's easy to work on too.

Sorry for all the questions, you lot are far more experienced than me at this and chances are somebody has already owned one of the heli's I am thinking of!

            Thanks again

The mini titan is an awesome heli and the 5.1 controller is far better than the beastx imho, only problem is spares, expensive and more to the point very hard to find, in the end i sold it simply because of the lack of spares. I decided to buy a tarrot (trex 450 fbl clone) and put a kbar on it (you all know what clone that is) i expected it to be a bag of sh!t. Trust me it fly's fantastic! After saying all that though the price of the 360 you must linked is very tempting to keep in the boot :-)

There's a lot of good clones out there and tarot seem particuarly good quality. At one time I was buying clone spares for my SEV2 from soem place I;ve forgotten the name of.. could get a whole swash up with main shaft head etc for under $20. Cheap metal, yes, but so cheap that you just swapped the lot out after any decent crash. Boom and tail for $12.. and those parts flew well if they didn't get dirt thumped. Skids for $1, canopies $1, sets of main gears with one-way and auto gear all pre-assembled. A bag of those and shafts made life easy for a day's bashing/crashing....

Spares are easy to get. Most LHSs do the standard plastic spares, Midlands, Fast Lads, Skyline, alshobbies, towerpro, Sussex Models. And for metal parts I'd advise using Helikraft.

The 4S E360 and its smaller cousin, the 3S E325 Sport, are both straight-tail FBL helis. The Mini Titan's a decent heli and fbl makes it even better.
You can't do wrong, just bear in mind the E360 is fairly new but most of its parts are Mini Titan V2 and easy to get anyway.
