  • Heli spooling--when throttle stick at 0

    Hi all,

    have a strange situation here....
when I move the throttle stick up the heli starts spooling up, however when I bring it back to zero it still keeps on spinning.....wont stop until I use the throttle cut. checked all the wires in the rx and gyro.....everything looks fine.

radio setup: u= up, d= down, r= right, l= left

    TRAVEL ADJUST
    THRO U 100% D 123% AILE L 100% R 100%
    ELEV U 100% D 100% RUDD L 120% R 100%
    GYRO U 100% D 100% PITC U 100% D 100%

    THRO CUR : %
    Norm (Pos L,2,3,4,H) 0,85,85,85,85
    Stunt mode (Pos L,2,3,4,H) 95,95,95,95,95
    Hold mode (Pos L,2,3,4,H) -0.0%

    SUB TRIM
    THRO 0 AILE 0
    ELEV 0 RUDD 0
    GYRO 0 PITC 0

Please note that this setting was done by pro pilot........and using the above setting the heli was flying perfect........did not change anything in the radio after he set it up.....

    Using a Dx6i

Would be great if anyone could shed some light on this issue.

    regards
    md

You have some odd number there? Rudder you won't the same both sides

make sure throttle curve is 0-100

if spectrum rebind and make sure throttle is at bottom. Check throttle trim lever also

Looks like your bottom stick position in your travel adjust for throttle is set to 100% and top is 123%. You want bottom to be set to 0%

Re-calibrate the esc for throttle movement.

Mate I did that.....looks like the throttle cut wont work...and when I flick the throttle cut the heli keep on spinning..
but I observed one thing when using U 100% and D 123%..........the spooling seems to slow down when I increase the D figure (D 123%- D 125%) but the problem is maximum limit is 125% and I cant go further.......

Ok my throttle trim on the radio was in the middle, but I had to do 6 clicks downward to make the spooling stop.............................Now if you could explain me why was it working properly before with the trim at the middle....and now why do I have to do 6 clicks down in order to make the spooling stop???
Also keeping the setting like this will if effect any other things meaning is it safe to use the helicopter like this????

If that was anitro model it's like a tick over trim.

pull the trim all way to bottom and rebind,

Also put your rudder 100 100, otherwise will be faster one way

i still did not master the helicopter tail setup....so for now i wanna leave the rudder as it is because i wont be able to fix it if something goes wrong.....it was set up like this by that dude for some reason maybe....i did see there is little bit of left trim in the rudder on my radio. but to be honest i am not comfortable with changing anything on the tail.

gixer thank you so much for solving my problem.......but you still did not explain why did i have to use the trim in my radio????
