haha here is a question I should know by now after 2 years of mess about with coaxials and 4ch micros (cx2,120sr,honeybeev2,align100x,msrx,nano cpx and align250dfc) here goes correct me if im wrong but +25% expo = 25% more responsive at mid and -25% expo =25% less responsive at mid stick. TOLD YOU IT WAS A NOOB DUMB QUESTION BUT ONE IVE NEVER ASKED OR THOUGHT ABOUT TILL NOW!!!. been watching vids of how to go inverted but my nano just seams to fly ff too quickly to add cyclic. My pitch curve is liner on idle up and thro is 100% at pos 1245and 90% at mid stick pos 3. Any answers welcome lmao I know im going to get stick for this as ive had mine set to +30% expo an wondered why was so responsive at first I have never really been out side with them most of my flying is in the house. so haven't noticed lol

actually it is the opposite way round, enable EXPO (positive) decrease EXPO (negative) ... so if you enable +25% it will be less sensitive at first and then increase exponentially

So Richie, if you've been flying with 35% you've had a big dead band around centre stick and you thought that was responsive, but you've not notice this indoors...
I would put this down to the to the complete opposite..
you've flown out doors for the first time, now you have natures element moving the heli about, your putting in the input to correct this, but as you have soo much expo (+30) you have to move the stick quite a distance before you get a reaction from the heli, by the time you get a reaction you have given more input then needed so you end up whacking the stick back the other way creating a pendulum affect..
Try reducing down to 25% to start and then wind it down gently till you find a spot your happy with,
just remember nice small smooth movements on the sticks.

yep that's whats going on used my nano for the first time out doors well a large garage with a large door more of a workshop but yer that's whats going on tbh expo was 35% with dr on and 25% off

Depends on the radio. Futaba works as the OP said. Negative expo = less response, Pos = more response.

          IIRC Spektrum is the reverse.

oh didnt know that futaba does it the other way round, but from understanding expo changes the servo travel corresponding to stick inputs, so I would think that dialing "in" exponential behaviour would set reduced rates at start and then accelerated rates once you passed 50% of stick travel, hence I thought all manufacturers do have the same understanding on this, obviously not ... but looking at his helis almost suggest he is using spektrum except he uses a futspek ..

Expo doesn't adjust servo travel, it adjusts how sensitive the sticks feel when moving off centre. Dual rates adjust stick travel.

If you think of it as curve, 0% would be linear and plus and minus curve the opposite ways.

There is a graph 2nd post down.

Agree it does sound like the OP is on spekky tho.

My Nano was terrible at getting inverted, not to bad if you do it slowly but it's not a patch on the mxpx bl.

As a fellow noob I found too much expo makes thing very hard to control, like as was stated earlier I ended up with an over-correcting pendulum effect! I now run zero expo on my gaui hurricane as I find expo makes it harder to maintain a steady hover.

a little bit of expo is good for precision. I run ~15-20 on cyclics and 30-35 on tail, just because I usually like fast piro rates, and want more precision at the center.

tom im using 85% dr with 35% expo in on pos and 95% dr with 25% on cyclic. rudd dr 95% 20% expo on pos 100% 15% expo off pos. I have now changed dr rates to 90% and 100% and expo 15% both positions
