As a general rule, buy from here or the BMFA classifieds. Avoid ebay.

Im assuming a dx6i would be fine for future upgrades, ie works alright with bigger helis?

If I were you I would take a look at the DX8 if you are a Spektrum user.

Lots of people upgrading to the DX9 and the second hand DX8 is getting sold for a little over £100.

The DX8 is tonnes better than the DX6i although it does do the job.

I upgraded to a DX8 from a DX6i, best thing I did. Backlit display. Three position toggle switches where it counts etc.

Yes - the DX6i functionally is fine. But as said, the DX8 has some nice extras. For me, the backlit LCD was the killer feature of the DX8.

I think someone on here has a dx6i for sale!

An unbiased opinion, would i notice a difference between a dx6i and dx8?

haha only messing mate, the dx8 is a very good tx, has quite a few more functions than the dx6i has, with out being rude, maybe a little over a beginners head?? I started on the dx6i and now have the dx7s, next one will be dx8 or the 9 once i need to move on. The 6i is probably the most used entry tx out there at the moment, every one seems to use SPEKTRUM.

My opinion MCPX BL is better than the the v2, although I love my V2, my mate has a brushless it flys slightly smother than my V2....

The sim has helped me to get the confidence to ditch my flybar heli and opt for the mcpx.

The DX8 is significantly easier to program than a DX6i. The screen is bigger, the buttons more user friendly and the menus more intuitive and straightforward.

If you are fairly certain that you are going to be getting further into this hobby then I would suggest a DX8 rather than the DX6i or DX7S.
