  • Grrrrr!!!!

Ok I finally went and got another Nano SR from the same shop, got it out of the box battery charged, doing pre flight checks and I notice that it has the same inherent problem as the other swash plate not level!

Each time I have bought one from this shop the owner has got it out of the box and check it fly's, buying hovering it around in a small part of he's shop. Quote there you go it fly's ok...

Is this normal when you get a RC Heli from a shop? At first I thought blimey that's great service, now I'm thinking, hold on does he know there are problems with them?

    Your thought and advice please..

    Thanks

P.S can I take it back I did try and fly it...

theres probably no problem with the heli mate. See if it flies true. Try trimming it, a swash will never sit level in flight, it has to counter act the tail rotor. Just get an experienced flyer (probably the guy in the shop) to havea go and if he says its ok, it probably is!

Have a look at the photos of my first one here to see what I mean...http://www.rcheliaddict.co.uk/setup-...y-nano-sr.html

Did you use your own controller or did it come with a controller?

If the guy in the shop flew it and it flew right, and the last one was the same... you should search for the common denominator.

To be fair, I think that the reason that the guy in the shop showed you it flying with a demonstration is that he is possibly used to people having similar experiences and bringing the helis back to complain.
You have said that he showed you the heli flying in the shop (in a small space I would guess) which to me suggests that there is not a problem with the heli. I would tentatively suggest that perhaps you are inexperienced with rc helis, and as such there may be something that you are doing wrong, or you might be missing something. . .

From your other post, it would seem that the problem you are reporting is that the swash is not level when the heli is off. It may be worth noting that when switched on, the heli attempts to counteract movement caused, for example, by wind or other outside influences. It does this through movements of the swashplate. So, when you pick up the heli to unplug it, it is likely that you are holding it in an 'unlevel' position, meaning that the swash will move to counteract this. Once you unplug, there is no power to the servos so they remain in their last position (unlevel) until you next power up the heli and allow it to calibrate for level on a flat surface. In your other post you suggested that you tried (or would try) to level out the swash via the ball links on the servo rods whilst the heli was powered off. this would then mean that on the next power up the servos will centre themselves but give you an unlevel swash which will definitely lead to problems.

I may be wrong about this, and apologise if I am (I'm trying to help) but my suggestion would be to return to the shop with the heli, speak to the chap in the shop and tell him exactly what you have experienced and what you have done to try to correct it. (If you did alter the ball-links, be honest and let him know this - it will help him fix the problem.) He may be able to help that way. If you find that the guy in the shop is unhelpful (bear in mind that I am suggesting you approach this in an unaccusatory tone - nobody likes that, especially from a 'newcomer' in a specialist shop) then it may be worth taking your business elsewhere. . . It sounds like he was trying to be helpful in the first instance though, by checking and demonstrating that the heli was in working order before you bought it.

Agh - I have just noticed that the Nano SR is flybarred. That kinda negates some of what I had said about the swash plate being unlevel when you pick up the heli, but the rest about talking it through with the guy in the shop stands. . .

Hope this comes across in the way that it was intended - unaccusatory and hopefully helpful.

After a long chat with the shop owner, the heli is £40 with the transmitter and flys so I'm being a bit picky..

Thanks for your thoughts and advice...
