What's a good heli for a noob to buy? Hobby grade - probably coax? Cheap to buy cheap to fix? E-flite Blades seem to have a good reputation. Your wisdom would be appreciated please!

shouldn't that be.....10,000th time ?
i would thoroughly recommend the blade MSR...cheap, crashes well, will bind to a Spektrum Tx, parts available and you can learn all the basics with it up to backward flight

Depends how much money and room you have, whether you want to fly indoor or/and outdoor?
I bought a Double Horse 9053, which I was told later that it would help if I wanted to move on to more advanced heli's after getting a Century Nano SR, I would say its a great but challenging Heli, however I wish I had been advised to get a Nano cx to learn the basics. Both are around the £40 or the E-Flite Blade Nano CP X around £140 ish.
Whatever you get have a good look a spares availability and price..
Good luck oh and read the info for beginners here.. http://www.rcheliaddict.co.uk/beginn...ead-first.htmlBlade mcpx V2

I too found the Blade MSR was a great trainer for the beginner, fun, cheap, tough, simple. It definitely helped me get frequent stick time for orientation and indoor fun and confidence building. I now have a Nano CPX and think it is a great machine, but for me as a beginner it would have been far too much of a handful, and the MSR is a better starter IMHO.Edmund

One of the blade micros is your best bet. Id avoid a co-ax you will probably learn to fly it quickly then get bored of it. Blades are no doubt the most popular. Couple that with a good simulator and you'll be ready for a big heli in no time.Matt

Get yourself an MCPX V2 and a decent sim/ radio. These should see you through till you have the craving for a bigger heli. Cheap to run and very durable. If only the MCPX BL was available when I first started out.SAB GOBLIN 700 COMPETITION / MIKADO NEO

I started with a hbk2 then had a 450 within a month so yeah I think an mcpx will be fine.Originally posted by endure View PostYou think a CP is suitable for a beginners?
As with any Heli you just need to be sensible with it. You will have to get used to cp at some point and the blade helis are going to be forgiving and hopefully give you the bug to progress without a massive dent to your wallet.Last edited by forza; 25-08-2013, 02:10 PM.SAB GOBLIN 700 COMPETITION / MIKADO NEO
