  • newbie with hubsan x4 problem

    Hi all
Firstly I should say I'm completely green when it comes to flying ex models but yesterday I went out and bought a hubsan x4 after contemplating getting involved in it for a while. It took me a while to be able to control the thing at all but after about 2 charges and a few minor crashes I started being able to hover it about for around 30 secs at a time (its much harder than I thought it would be).

Now I got a bit of a pro lem with it. It doesn't seem to want to take off! Whilst low I can control it. I noticed one of the blades is slightly bent which you can only see when its spinning and I'mholding it, its only slight so not sure I'd that's the problem. Also if I tilt the model to the left the 2 right blades stop and if I tilt it right the left ones stops, same with front and back. Is this normal.

The x4 only cost £30 so hence a cheap way to get involved, but if I have to keep buying parts its not so cheap anymore.

Anyway that's it hope someone with more experience can help me with my introduction to model flying.

    Thanks
    Markyboy

Hey Marky, not familiar with this heli, but looking on google, it doesn't look too complicated, the blades are fixed so you'll only go up if they are spinning fast enough, make sure batteries are fully charged and you have good connections. The blades probably stop spinning one side when you tilt it because the internal gyro is trying to level the heli out again, it can only do that by cutting or raising power to motors to correct the tilt. If batteries are good, check you haven't knocked the throttle trim down on the transmitter, so you don't get full power.
