  • What servo?

While reading the last issue of Rotoworld, there was an article which had a pile of different servos mentioned. When I get my new heli I want to do it right, from the begining. Is there any paper work available(for Futaba) that tells you what servos are for where and the different specs on them.

        Mack,

It all depends on your preference, but I've got a .50 on route and I intend to put some JR591's in it.

They are about 12.00 and have the same spec as the S9202 Futaba servo which is 45.00, yes I have no doubt that there will be some difference in the inside, but I've never had one fail me yet.

Infact one is on the throttle for my Milli.
        Cheers

          Here's another useful site. http://www.fatlion.com/sailplanes/servochart.html

As Stuart said, it also depends on your style of flying. On most .30 size machines you can get away with standard servos like 3001's. Obviously as you go bigger, or your flying becomes more aggressive you will need something with a bit more torque.

              Sounds good Dave.....

Only problem for me is Futaba that connectors don't fit into a JR Rx without a little modification.

                Stuart

Solution to that is to use a decent radio like......Futaba

I went 1 step further with my Rappy 50, I have 9252 digitals on cyclic and collective, and the 9254 digital on the tail. standard 3001 on the throttle but only because I wanted to keep my Hitec fast digital on the tail of the Nexus for a while longer.

Not cheap I grant you but imported that are not too bad either Just remember that digitals are current hungry so a bigger Rx battery is a good idea. I have a 3300 NIMH Overlander 4 cell pack (GP Cells)

This is probably as good as I will ever need!

Stu, dont you just need to trim the tab from Futaba to make them fit other radios (old Sanwa the exception if anyone still uses this)

                    Stu
We use the little gws rx's indoors and have to nip the servo tongue off the servo's - the new plug has a less noticable locating tongue to make it easier to modify.
                    Not a problem.
