  • help with a kds 450 qs please

hi guys ...i normally let the shop sort out my helli when i crash it but .... ive now started to look at doing stuff myself ... ok ... now as a typical bloke i took it apart but didnt note where the cable route for the front 2 servos went and im sure mine isnt right as its in my mind too close to the main gears so if any one has pics and or diagrams or just general advice it would be much appreciated had to replace a front servo

    cheers tony

help with a kds 450 qs please

I'm afraid the 450qs probably isn't that common so you may not find anyone on here with it. However, with wire routing there isn't a wrong or right necessarily. Many people take pre built helis and change the wiring to suit personal tastes, or because of modifications.

In short, so long as the wiring fits, is secure (usually with lots of zip ties) and doesn't rub against carbon fibre frame edges, you should be ok. Just remember to keep it secure otherwise things move in flight.

Oh, and well done for fixing it yourself! It's really not that difficult once get the hang of it.

Thats one good thing about crashing, You get to know your heli. tomatwalden is correct in what he says, id just like to add sand any carbon edges you go over thay are sharp & will cut wire easily. When you strip your heli take a photo with your iPhone to fall back on,

I have put some short extension cables on my front servo's and throttle cables to make routing them easier and tidier.
What I am learning on at the moment:

Thats fine, Have you put heat shrink or cable fasteners on so as not to come apart.

I use Maplins cable wrap and small cable ties to keep things tidy.

This is the best advice I would have given, I had the same replacement of servos, and they run down the outside of my frame, it's good to rebuild yourself. DSCF1081.jpg
