  • beginner error.. worth checking!

    Hi all,

I'm kind of astonished that I did this so thought I'd share..

Used Ray's Dvd series during the build of my raptor 50, and when setting up the pitch I made a shim to sit in the rotor head body under the flybar, to keep everything rock solid during pitch setup..

What I forgot to do was remove it!!!

Two evenings spent out at the field tuning the engine and trying to figure out what was causing some serious head vibration..

Only spotted my error whilst re-installing the engine after balancing the fan..

Learnt a very valuable lesson today.. check, check and re-check..

Yeah I wasn't impressed.. but I did come across a post on another forum which showed some pics of the newer carb, based on a chap that had his replaced by TT. Mine looks the same so kinda put my mind at rest for now.

good man glad its sorted. another thing that happend to me was my clutch went up into the clutch bell too far and ground the metal away. it was because i left the washer on the back of the engine. so keep an eye on it just in case..

Cheers for the heads up on that.. will check mine just incase, as I did have the clutch apart to check the fan.
