only thing ive found so far, and this was last year, using a cgy750 on my old ely q vision 90, using a outrage nrg3600 rx pack, 6v on a ely q reg, using SAB red and white 690blades i was getting 4 flights and 30% left in the rx pack, used standard radix i did 4 flights and ended up with 9% left in the pack ( did it afew times to be sure ) then was using some spins for awhile, 4 flights in, had 53% left in the pack, other than that the model flew the same, same style of flying aswell, people who know me know im relentless on my models, but thats all i noticed really, btw im using edge se blades on my g4, 2150 opti rx pack, stright HV set up and im not getting 5/6 flights, and its a smaller rx pak

It's not just the weight but the CoG, flybarred blades to help with agility have a rearward c of g and more stable blades have a forward c of g. So an agressive set of blades that may not suit a fbl machine would be a set with a rearward cog.

Essentially the blades will fight the fbl controller. The blades will naturally want to pitch up, the controller will try to pitch them back down so will always be driving the servos harder than a neutral set of blades. Whether this would be felt by the pilot I don't know it's only theoretically what would happen. I suppose the servos might pull a bit more current

Ah ok that makes more sense thanks,......Apparantly Jason Platts uses fb edge so that was good enough for me to give it a try. Worse case I can move them on if I don't like em ( that's if they're still in one piece lol)

Ive flown with carbons with wood core on both fb & fbl & cant tell any difference so there's another option you could try.
Today's outlook is fine for flying.

I'm looking at buying those Carbon Torsion 315mm Main Blades TB315 for my Trex 450 DFC with BeastX . The cyclic servos are strong enough I suppose (MKS DS95) to drive FB blades, but for these it does not say whether they are FB or FBL (i.e. where the CoG is - close to root or far). Any opinion please? FWIW I'm only hovering, currently using Revolution 325mm FBL.

I don't know, but I'm interested why you are thinking of buying these blades in particular as they are more expensive than stock Align blades? Have you read a good review, or do you just like the look or them?

Don't like Align ones , these Torsion are cheaper than Revolution and I've heard good opinion about them (but only in context of FB - nothing in the context I'm going to use them ie FBL).

Amazing how opinions differ, I would rather put Aligns on than Torsion of any persuasion. They are well known for having no strength and have repeated failures mid air, delaminating with the resultant carnage. I know they have a new range but I doubt many have been persuaded although the night blades look good in fairness.

It's true Dave opinions vary widely. I don't mind aligns, I just prefer edge for the way I fly and how they sound too. I tried some revolution fbl on my 450 and really liked them and they are a good price too but when you go up to 50 size and above all the good makes are comparably priced so I stayed with the edge ( better the devil ) ;-)
