V-Bar Nitro Gov

Guys, I have setup my N5c with a full size V-Bar (5.3 pro) and using the gov. I got my head around the setup etc, and it all works, but not that well!!

The problem I seem to have is the motor is surging, like the throttle servo is opening and closing rapidly. Almost like a gyro gain that is to high and making the tail wag. Is there a gain that can be lowered within the software?

I'm using an Align sensor with the Black and Red wires reversed.

Yes there is a gain.Its the main slider in the governor section.

What motor you using as if it's a YS for may need to drop the % minimum gov setting in the tab with the hat.My YS's are running at -70 at the moment.
A combination of increased gain and reduced min gov should do it.

Have you any governor errors in the flight log?

Yeah Rob my YS120 and YS60 both had to have these settings played with.

I'm using an Align sensor and ended up splitting the power and taking the positive supply off a spare channel rather than use the governor port.I was getting loads of governor glitch errors.
The Align sensor like more voltage than the governor port puts out.

The Diabolo's great- even better now that the Pyro750 has been fitted.
A second Diabolo? You didn't want to wait for the new Triabolo then? Something different by the looks of it.

Either way as you say, superb machines.

I use an align sensor and get tons of glitch errors, where do you take the power from? What voltage do they work best at?

Just checked, using v5.3.4 and this parameter is the last one listed on the governor menu. -50% is default.

In nitro governor mode.

Regarding the Align sensor.Put a plug on just the white lead and connect to the sensor port and have the pos and neg on another plug connected to any spare channel on the V Bar.
I think the sensor port puts out 3.3v which doesn't work that well with the Align sensor.

This was also my worry with the throttle servo, it also only gets 3.3v, and I do not think that is enough even though it is only opening a throttle barrel.

I would have thought that the throttle servo would be getting full V Bar unit voltage.As far as I know it's only the sensor port that is lower.

I have the Align sensors on 2 Raves straight into the sensor port with zero issues, read before about them liking more voltage but not found it to be a problem myself.

i will check tonight with a meter, but my understanding is that that end of the V-Bar has a 3.3v power bus only along with the sat plugs. Only the servo end has full voltage.

Only the sensor port is reg'd to 3.3v, servo port is input voltage, same as the other side.

Sorry to hijack the thread but I would love to have your thoughts about the ys 60 what the power like and how are they to tune

Thanks for everyone's help, looks like the servo gets full voltage and there are gains that can be adjusted. Time to get playing!!

Now then, which parameter is it in the hand held controller? I can adjust it at the field then!!

On the handheld, gov gain is in the gov section, and is called gain
