  • Beastx problems solved by Climb out

Before any one blames a beastX unit to be faulty please read this thread.I had a problem with one of my units that caused me to lose control of my new GOBLIN and ended up costing me £250 to fix,the problem was as follows
When the goblin was in the hover it was stable, the moment I touched the tail the heli "went in to one" turned upside down and piled itself in to the deck.Very disheartened, I put it back together replaced the servos, beastx unit,RX and even the bec to make sure I did not go thourgh the same thing again and what do you know... it's perfect now.I then needed to find the cause of it all and all the gear that came out of the goblin went into a 600LE I tested the 600 yesterday ,in the hover it was perfect, turn the govenor on and all hell broke loose the heli snapped to the left but I was quick and caught it and landed it, my first thoughts were that the beastX unit was the culprit I then called Climb Out and had a chat to Ade and at first my thoughts were that they were not going to entertain my findings and although Ade was very helpful it just did not make sence what he was telling me .I've tested the unit after all and went over the setup 20 times over,Ade told me to replace the pad under the unit to a more firmer pad and not the stock one supplied with the unit he then advised me as to why it was better to run a firmer pad and it's all down to harmonic frequency of the vibration that causes this problem. Very reluctantly, I used (on Ade's advice) some ripmax double sided tape and went back to the field expecting it all to end in tears. Now let me say this: I have several beastX units and after taking Ade's advice I can say that this unit that I deemed as faulty is the best most solid unit I have and I'll be doing the same to all my other Helis fitted With beastX units.

The moral of all of this is: don't condem the unit first, take advice from Ade and you will be very happy with the end result.

THANK YOU Ade as I said Yesterday YOU THE MAN!!!

I use the clear 3M tape and it's very good! I'd never use that flimsy sponge stuff.

      >> turned upside down
vibrations may cause drifting, but the heli shouldn't do no 3D.
It sounds like a damaged sensor to me. If so, the tape suppresses the symptoms, but doesn't solve the problem.

Great to hear this! I and others have been banging on about using a firm pad with the beast x it makes all the difference to how good it feels
Glad you got it sorted !

Excellent advice, could also have found it on here numerous times. A lot of BeastX users have had similar issues fixed by replacing the standard pad. I have to say just by feel the supplied pad feels fine dense and stiff but there must be something inherently wrong with it's vibration isolation. I use Maplin tape, 2 or 3 layers thick and have had no issues.

i have 5 beastx units on supplied tape, never had a problem with mine, if this is the case beastx supplied tape is not fit for the purpose and surely they would now be supplying the 3m tape with all there units

I stand corrected!, looks like new packs are coming with a 3m pad and original foam type which the middle piece can be removed.

I not sure Brin all I can say is try it and see if it works for you as advised by Ade it's all down to the harmonic frequency caused by vibration and all helis will have some vibration

The Goblin is super fast on the cyclics and I was not ready for it when it flipped over so I'm sure the problem is solved I was also reluctant but hey it worked and the 600 is soled

I recently fitted one of the latest batch of Beastx and there is 3m tape with it but I first tried the foam with the centre removed this was mounted on a nitro Ely q 90 competition and with the main and tail blades removed was run up on the ground with a fairly high speed but not full throttle held it at speed for a while and to my surprise the aileron tilted fully to the side I then strapped it down with velcro with no tilting taking place under the same engine run conditions but I wasnt satisfied with this and replaced the foam with the 3m tape and the velcro strap, I would advise anyone fitting the Beastx to a nitro machine to follow this procedure a guaranteed no crash result
