I have just converted my 700n to fbl and have the same problem with rearward drift. Cannot seem to dial it out with any setting or pot adjustment on 2.0 firmware.

ive just set up the 3gx on my 600nitro swash dead level, no sub trims or tranny trims on first flight in lent a bit to the right on take of and when in hover it drifted to the right and backwords ive now had 8 flights and have adjusted the rear links on the swash plate to lift the back up a bit started with 2 turns on right side and 1 turn on left side but then it drifted to the left and backwords so turned left link out 1 turn which is now both links 2 turns out which should pitch heli forword but it still drifts backwards and to the left

There must be a setup issue 2.1 doesn't have any of the previous symptoms of drifting, I think if you default tx & start setup again then once you've gone through the dir & then in flight mode set cyclic elev/aile to between 8 & 9 degrees then adjust flip/roll rates to around 30 to 40% then adjust the gain posts are about 2 o'oclock this will sort it out.

ive been through set up twice, swash perfecly level at centre stick and top&bottom have got servo horns at 90, have got 8deg on ele&ail, 12-12 pitch, flip/roll rates are 30% , pots at 2 oclock and control feel at 80% i flew it this morning in about a 20mph winds and it drifted backwards into the wind and to the right, went out tonight winds only 6mph and it drifted forwards with the wind and to the right i just cant work out why it keep changing

So the only thing I can think is swash is not levelling in flight, take it you've checked links & everything is nice n free.
Does it drift soon as heli lifts off or does it get worse as battery drops off.

no it drifts as soon as it taks of i am running a quk swash and the links are nice and free apart from that its pretty standard ds610s on cyclics and align servo horns so every thing lines up ok

If it drifts as soon as it takes of it has to be a mechanical fault maybe servo.? the only fault 3gx had was on the v2 when heli would drift tailwards as the battery power drops off.
I know its going to be a pain but at this stage I would default tx 'inh' any pitch trims you may have, then continue with setup, I han this with my 450 on v2 & manage to cure it & when i used v2.1 heli stared tailward drift again only when I defaulted tx did I cure it then found I also had a faulty servo.

If I was setting up 3gx again I would try using shorter servo horns and more travel in the software. Might not change anything but makes sense to me if the software has a bigger range to work with. Trying to do the job with say 60-80% travel opposed to 30-40% might make it smoother. Not sure if it will make any difference to the drift problems.

well ive re set it up again last night re checked swash level in dir mode with swash tool and is perfect at mid stick i did notice it was out a hair pin at top but it so small im not worryed about that, perfect at bottom stick every thing else looks fine , the only thing i didnt do was in flight mode setting was do the max travel limit to tell it how much traval it can use before binding as i see in the software its defaulted at 70% so not sure wether ive done right here or not as for the servo horns im using the align ones with 2 holes and im using the inner ones dont know whether this makes much difference or not, im hoping to test fly today if it breaks out as its tipping it down here at the moment

Don't use the default 70% its way to much cyclic although Align suggest that you max without binding, in flight mode & connected to pc set your cyclic limits between 8 & 9 degrees which is around 5 to 10% parameter this is why your heli is drifting & gain pots about 2", but if cyclic to a little slow reacting use the flip/roll rates this will defo cure it & this is why Align put the flip rates first when you use 3gx to adjust parameters.

so i take it you adjust this in normal not in dir mode as i take it its got nothing to do with the cyclic set up in dir mode which is 8deg

well ive set cyclics up in normal mode and got 9deg with 30% on ele and got 9deg with 5% on ail does this sound right i take it the % numbers dont have to match up ive also got my flip rates at 30% will i have to set this higher or will these be the same as when i last flew it

Yep 9 is fine depending how fast you want flip & roll rates but 30% is a good starting point.
