3GX V2 update just out

Seems ok - just flew it. Not 100% sure my setup is right, i still have the "dead spot" even after re-doing the dir mode setup.

It seems a lot more docile than my old 1.1 setup, also always wants to seem to send the nose skyward when hovering. Knocking the elevator gain up from 12 oclock to about 2 oclock seemed to help with this.

Doesnt Tic-toc the way it used to but FFF pyros seem stable enough. At full tilt (i.e full collective) forward flight it struggles pyroing clockwise but anti clockwise is no problem.

Take offs and landings seem just fine although obviously I didnt waggle the collective about with it on the floor!

Seems to generally be more docile and do less unexpected stuff than my old setup, however it doesnt feel quite as direct or locked in - maybe setup will help with that.

However, before I had a chance to get going with the setup, halfway through pack 2 I had a complete thumb failure during a low, fairly fast loop which meant I snapped the landing gear. I Tried to land it just on one skid but obviously its going to tip over there so that was end of day for me!

Take laptop with? Simples! I don't think it really felt too much different mate just a bit slower roll rates - but I did only set then to 60% I think so that'd explain that!

Unfortunately I don't own a laptop. Wish they'd release the phone app they said they would in the 3gx blurb.

Just a heads up guys, i've been having some issues setting up v2.0 on my 600EFL Pro. I can't get matching command rates without making large changes to the Flight mode parameters. I posted this over on helifreak and it seems their might be a bug with the command rate display. Perhaps someone else could check and confirm?

I had the same and decided to just match the flip rate slider to the same position as the roll rate and ignore the movement speed display for elevator. We shall see how it goes tomorrow!

The manual states it'll match them if they are out by more than 20% vs each other anyway so seems like maybe a bug?

Yeah i'm going to do the same, seems safer. Will be trying it out tomorrow morning very carefully!

Done 2 lipo's on my 450 with v2 she's flying s*** worse than ever i've obviously done something wrong so back to the setup but im flying in the morning so thinking i should revert back to my previous setup.

Put it on my v2 600n in the end. James moon maidened it and I think he liked it. Did some flips, loops, piro flips and stuff. I did some gentle flying with it last thing and I really liked it to.
The only settings I changed in the pc software was the aileron and elevator limits which I put down to 20% if I remember right. Whatever number it was it gave me around 9.5 degrees of cyclic. I'm running 11 degrees of collective. Everything else was default values.
I may tweak a few things as I fly it more, but overall happy with the v2 maiden.

I've worked it out if you setup your 8 degree cyclic in DIR then save to come out of it, plug your usb in & on the 3gx screen highlight parameter then hold tail to one side whilst pressing the 3gx button you are then in parameter mode there you can make the adjustments whilst watching the parameter scales on the screen alter as you alter the parameters on your tx, gives you a good idea of settings when you get to the field.

After being disapointed with my 1st v2 setup i spent a bit of time on the laptop playing with parameters via the 3gx unit which paid of this morning, whilst im taking five at the field im doing this post on the 450pro & its lovely to be able to play with 3gx parameters between flights & now pleased with my results ive got my heli just how i like it, not been able to get a nice pie dish since going 3gx but now im on a high what a buzz im getting, so well worth going v2, 500 is perfect on 1.2 so not sure just yet to go v2
