There was a RC heli launched by an company called outraged, which at the time was one of the largest 450 heli physically. It was called the OUTRAGE G5, it came in different flavours CF as well FG. The main thing was. It flew on 6S batteries and its main claim was that it could fly for 7 minutes. All things being equal how could I make a TREX dominator 450 fly for 7 minutes. On a 1300 6S battery. What motor pinion/motor combination would be required. I saw one of these Outrage G5 fly many years ago, and it was incredibly stable at a low head speed. The guy who was flying it was doing slow acrobatics with it. He offered me the machine, but at the time I didn't have enough money, wished I had brought it then.

It might have been possible but it would have been a very sedate flight

Blimey, the Outrage doesn't seem THAT long ago!

Agree that duration and flight performance are (broadly) inversely related given that there are absolute physical limits that will be approached, based on weight and rotor diameter etc. 6s offers some efficiency possibilities over 3s but increasing voltage is a diminishing return so don't think that going 12s will bring similar benefits!

Yep the 450 built with meccano. Anyhow can you not just use the same motor/esc combo ???

Just remembered I've flown one. It was at one of the first indoor meets at calshot velodrome & Mattie & I helped set up the CSM 750 & I test flew it because Mattie flies that gay Mode 1
