Upgraded to v5 on my Trex 600n from v4. On v4 I used to have travel and flip/roll rates around the 80% mark. This was way to aggressive on v5 put them back to stock and heli worked a treat. Upgrading the 700 next.

As a side note. I have used 3gx for a couple of years now and three things spring to mind

      1) they don't always re-flash firmware well, hence all these variations of flight feel settings etc. I've had it where the cyclic pitch acceleration was set even though in the sw it showed 0. You can only know this if you know roughly how the heli should be, so for a beginner/intermediate it's an absolute nightmare.

      2) if align had a vibe logger on 3gx I expect many issues would be resolved. I've seen people blame 3gx for a crash then put on a vbar and still have the issue. Difference is this time they get help to work through the issues. Result 3gx is c**p new fbl controller is great.

      3) the documentation available is rubbish and the help on line tends to be - buy another FBL unit. Hats off to tourer Jim, coolice and others that continue to help in the face of overwhelming deference to the product. If align spent a few quid getting an English translator/heli pilot to write the manual it would be a huge step in the right direction.

However bottom line is, it's a hobby and if you can't enjoy it due to tech, change your tech and enjoy :-)

I put it on my 450 DFC last Wednesday, and it feels very nice in the air, comes of the ground well, and the tail is very crisp,

was running V3.1 before and it does feel a lot more fluid and sharp in comparison,

          V3.1 or V5 defo V5 it a keeper on my 450 anyway,

Well, I flashed it to my 450 Dominator a couple of hours ago (no problems) and then put a few packs through it. It is definately more stable and less twitchy in the air and take offs and landings feel much safer and controlled. The number one improvement for me is the tail - faster, solid stops, no overshoot. A definite improvement.

Still trying to get used to the tail on my 250 nether managed to cure the unexpected tail blow-outs, now its like im expecting it to happen & nothing other than the perfect tail with 18 flights on v5.
Today's outlook is fine for flying.

Very strange how results are so different. Especially so since I upgraded three helis and got broadly similar results from all three (elev and aileron gains needed turning way up), but the bigger helis definitely reacted much worse, the 500pro wasn't too bad and the 600 somewhere inbetween.

The issues were not subtle, they made the 700 all but un-flyable, certainly not something that could have been in my imagination.

I absolutely love v5.0 especially the tail but yesterday while flying out in the field tail kicked out randomly, twice while flying inverted and once while in FF. 3rd time tail spun by 180 degrees. It freaked me out big time. Anyone else experienced anything similar with tail?

U should test the tail by doing fast backward flight, and u should be able to move the tail a little side by side while doing that without blowing out. If u do get the tail to blow, first check everything in the tail is smooth as butter...

After going back to v4 a few weeks ago I thought I'd give v5 another try, all I can say is WOW, this thing rocks now, everything is so more crisp and precise, tail is very good with nice stops . The only thing I changed was the pots on the unit I had to turn them up a lot. Very pleased with it .

Just trying to set up a pre-loved 500EFL on V5 now. Got a bitchin little wag on the tail, but with only one batt charged for it flying time was limited. Suspect wag will disappear once I get gain down to the usual Align tolerance, approx +&-1% on tx.
Jeez the head speed is mental on 12T helical gear on motor (also forgot to take tacho with me) auto's very nicely though, but was only dropping it in from around 5M's

I've given up on v5 on my 700, I ended up fitting a KBER to see how it compared and suffice to say the KBAR is staying on.

I'm still using the 3GX v5 on my 600 pro but the same problems remain of what appears to be much too low gain. The pots are turned all the way to the stops but the heli still drifts badly especially in pitch, no signs of the usual wobbles that you would expect if you maxed out the gains to the stops. Compared to the 700 with the KBAR it's night and day. The 600 used to be fine with v4 so definitely something specific to v5 software and not the heli or the mechanical setup.

To be honest I cant be bothered flashing back to v4 and going through the setup over again. I'll just stick another KBAR in the 600, they are much easier and less fussy to set up.
