  • How on earth do I update my 3gx!!!

    I'm sure its something simple but how the heck do I download the 4.0 update? I downloaded the file from here;

    But all it seems to do is download a video that won't play!!

    It's a .rar file... you need something like Winrar to open it

      As above but Winrar may throw up a window asking you to purchase, just click out of the pop-up & continue with setup.
      Today's outlook is fine for flying.

            Ok just updated the firmware to 4.0 and I can already hear more servo twitching than before which I noticed has been mentioned a lot on here! So long is this stops the unwanted pirouette when I backflip then its all good!

              Did you default TX to new model, 3GX has its own memory & even with new firmware it doesn't always default only when it see changes from TX .

                How on earth do I update my 3gx!!!

                The easiest way to update a 3gx is to buy a vx1

                  Bearing in mind I fly with Angelos' engineer and chief test monkey its probably just a matter of time before I end up with a vortex! I must admit watching him test it out to fine tune things I was amazed at how accurately his heli stopped and how smooth it all looked!

                      That's good to hear, I was just having a bit of fun,
                      I was at Cuffley model flying club today and to see the Align-Trex team pilots fly the vx1 with v3 was AWSOME.
                      Chris Newby, Dave Fisher, John Nobbs and Ali Humphrys.

                          Hey Buddy.

                          As you were flying a 3GX before on V3, a full transmitter reset may not be required. It's more important when coming from a fly barred setup that may be using mixes and ATV adjustments to get right.
                          If anything going from V3 to V4 with the same settings will help speed up the process, as once in DIR mode to reteach the now blank 3GX it's settings to work within, all the hard work such as setting the cyclic to 8 degree's deflection is done for you. However, bear in mind any added dual rates and changes to pitch/throttle curves requiring linear control movements when in DIR mode should be removed.

                          I flew my first Vortex in a TDR a week ago, need more time with one to fully explore what can be done with it, but I made some minor tweaks to a lively setup and it flew well.
