  • Heli fuel....plank fuel...!!?!?!?!?!?**

Hi all, need some advice.... relatively new to nitro heli's and my mate sorted me some 'Model Technics Coptamix 10' fuel for the OS50Max engine. Question is can i use this fuel in an OS46LA plank engine? Last time I flew the plank....several years ago.....i used 'firestorm 5%' fuel. I ran it the other day...new NIMH's and updated RX ....but it wouldn't rev. It ticked over quite merrily for ages but open throttle...cut out!! When i stored the plane last I used after run oil and i've turned the engine over regular.
I used the old fuel as it was in a sealed container and wasn't sure whether the Coptermix was right to use. I read somewhere that as long as the moisture can't get into the fuel, It would keep...is this a myth?
Am i going to need a seperate fuel to fly the plank again? It doesn't get much use so it would be good to just use 1 lot of fuel.

    Cheers in anticipation.
    Cheers all.....Karl...

Yes you can. Your plane engine will run great on it.

I use Coptamix 20% in all my models which include three YS91 helis, one YS56 heli, one OS50 heli, one Saito 125 4 stroke plane, one YS70 4 stroke plane, one OS82 4 stroke plane and a pocket rocket OS32 2 stroke plane. One fuel, all engines.

If it's sevral years old I'd sling it, It will keep in a SEALED container but if it's been opened chances are it's got water in it.

I use Optirust20 in my buggy and heli with great results in both.

alot depends how you store your fuel. I have 3x 5lts of unopened Model Technics 20% and one i have just opened that is well over a yr old, i have been using optifuel optimix 20% but my local rc shop cant get any for another 2 weeks. I have not noticed any difference in performance or temp range at all. MY fuel is always stored in a dark cool place (back of garage) in metal container.

Fuel consider any motor vehicle life line so no one can get best performance any vehicle get with out uses of fuel so power having a lot of fuel capacity as recovering high performance.
