Now that would be neat! Plainly you cannot make more power (BHP) as such but you can increase the efficiency such that full power can be reached with maximum torque and that feels like loads more power. We test both nitro and LIPO all day long back to back every flyable day data logging both. On a warm to hot day a 90E sized machine with two 5000mAh cells has the power advanatage for sure but only flys 5 mns and performance tails a bit at the end. We only charge at 2C in the field so takes a while to recharge. Nitro (with development fuel for the Masters 2012 in mind) on a cold day is very close to electric and deliverable power much closer than you might think or expect and of course flys for 10 mins on a tank and you can fly back to back.

We have feet in both camps and LIPO is fuel as far as we are concerned and is very easy to use and definately is not going away hence OPTIPOWER. Cells are balistic but still got more testing to do before they come to market.

We are lucky at OPTI to have the oppourtunity to run both fuels (nitro and LIPO) and have all the data to hand to allow us to be very objective about blend/build performance. In terms of Heli's we are testing on 700E, 600E, 550E 500E, 450 Super Pro, Aurora E, Logo 600 and others including fixed wing 3D and F3A electrics all being flown by top pilots (except me, crappy pilot). All data is being accessed by an expert in LIPO technology, we are all running Castle ICE and all charging using Cell Pro Power Lab 8V2 devices so we have both charge and running data being built up.

So interesting times indeed and a place for both fuels for sure.

I've been using 20%SLV since beginning of Feb and find it's needs a few clicks leaner on the main needle and a click on the low, All in all a great fuel from Opti, So far i've not had to change a bearing, in any of my motors.
