...had to pull the engine to look for vibes (fan blades broken).. but checked inside... it's done at least 16L - possibly lots more and the bearing looks and feels new; no point doing the planned change

That's good to hear as I now fly on that fuel. Got at least 4 bearings to change in my planks after using opti last year. Near had rusty rears before (that doesn't sound right ??) even though I'm pretty strict on using after run etc.
    Cheers,
    Simon

I have used rapicon 30% in my ya56sr and my os91hz-r
all good nice and cool, but i must say rapicon stains the inside of
the motor a gold'ish colour, i prefer wild cat lv30% myself

I haven't noticed any staining (yet)..not that colour as such would worry me. Im aslo pretty cavalier about pos flight...just put the fuel clip on and go home. But i do try to fly it at least weekly..and usually as often as weather allows...

Still got to get some but my LHS hasnt heard of it. Tbh I'm not willing to shell out £100 for four tubs at once, I probably wouldnt use that many in a year :/.

..someone needs to get out more
I went back to using the 450/500's more in the summer after shifting 4 jugs in under 3 weeks. Economical answer should be to use the gasser..but mine costs too much when I deck it

I tried to fly as often as I could for a week last year mate, I honestly didnt like it. For some reason I got sloppy on the controls and lazy because I got used to the adrenaline rush and slight nerves, for some reason they keep me on my toes so 4 tubs in a year is about right I brecon .

By tubs do you mean cases martin or 4, 4 litre containers. When I'm on it I can do a gallon a session.

Rapicon ain't too expensive and the delivery is free by the way.

Sorry mate I meant 4 X 4 litre containers. Ive checked and is about the same, maybe a quid more than my LHS does opty, 30% there is £23 if I can remember.
At the moment I can't see me burning a gallon a sesh lol, I dont go out earlier enough for that. Maybe when I join the local club which I can't wait for.

..fly a 90 and it's easy to burn a jug.. really sat myself down and decided no point burning the stuff for the sake of it..so more time on electrics and 600 and then use the fuel guzzlers when I'm sure of the move.
It's moved on to usually using the 500 as my beater and keeping fuel costs down out of commonsense and repair costs - after blowing about 5K in parts/lipos/fuel etc one year. I'll be retiring soon and money will be tighter than my well off days...

ive been using opti 20slv from a month or so b4 general realese and as long as you follow a strict shutdown procedure it seems not to kill bearings pinch the line plug the pipe and shut the carb as soon as you land and your bearings stay good also im liking opti 20slv over rapicon 30 which i have been using for 4-5 months,i also noticed you get more vibrations with rapicon 30 (tested on the v-bar spectrum analyser with my velocity 90 os91 hzr) my findings with both fuels
                              im swaping back to opti
