  • Optifuel 20% SLV :)

Today I have tested some Optifuel 20% SLV.
I found it to be great and thanks Andy.
It seamed as powerful as 30 SLV.
Easy to tune nice and cool running
I have only used 2 tanks today as the fog was to bad.
Look forward to getting out again hope the weather gets better
    Cheers Paul

What fuel do you normally use?
I'd like to hear your thoughts comparing them after you've run several more tanks through
    Cheers,

I too have been lucky enough to be testing Optifuel 20% SLV 20% oil content

I have used it in both of my OS 91 HZ powered models, a Rave ENV (Dave!) & my T rex 700 LE (Rexy). Bothg use MP6 pipes.

I usually use Normal Optifuel 20 % and have found the new SLV far superior to the normal Optifuel ,

Better throttleing so less loading in Manuvers, In fact Today I was setting up Dave and only used standard optifuel, and I ended up thinking about introducing a throttle to Tail mix as during piro moves Dave was loading badly Then I rememberd I wasn't using SLV in Dave.

So it really does make a huge difference to my confidence and therfore flying ability or lack of it !

It also starts better and even carrying the model to the pad IT just feels smoother.

I have also overheated the engine a bit to the point of smelling and havent noticed any damage.

The general opinion in my club ( the fab Stafford heli club !) , is that 20% slv should be Ideal for sports flyers ,as long as it's not a huge cost increse over the original 20%

I have now used 3 Gallons and love it

Thanks to Andy at optifuel for the opportunity to try it.

I'm glad to hear you're getting on with it so well.
I have flown a gallon of the 20% oil content version of this 20% SLV and in my opinion it takes general flight power up to 30% levels. You only notice a loss of power in sustained high load manoeuvres, such as continuous tic tocks and such like. Where 30% SLV just keeps pulling, delivering tons of power, the 20% SLV will load up a little quicker.

Keen to hear more reports from you guys
            Cheers,
            Rob

The best muffler I've tried on the OS55 Hyper (and thats a lot now!) is the Thunder Tiger HighFlow 3D pipe.

              Just FYI

Hi Simon Not sure when but maybe you should put a post in the Optifuel section as Andy will pick it up and reply.

he is a fab guy who lives to improve our fuel, probbably exists on pot noodle too and lives in a heli cupboard

My oppinion is it should be soon but then again what do i know but I will not be buying and in bulk until I know when the SLV is comming out .

                  SLV developments

If you are running an OS55 the TT Hi Flow pipe works very well indeed.

20SLV testing nearly complete looking awsome?

Should have testing finished in December, go on hols and then mix a bit! Just need to finish temperature testing needs to right!

                  Andy

PS, changed my YS91SR back bearing today first one in 18 months on this engine runs every few days done way north of 250 flights!! Great engines YS.
