I read some where that the nitro content makes a big diffrence to how long the clunk line will last, ie. I use 12% and don`t get many problem. Some of the lads flying 3D use 30% and have more problems with there clunk lines.
I would say over 50% of engine cut outs are down to clunk line, so for the sake of a few pennys its worth changing them often ( less hard landings means more money for ), unless you like doing auto`s.

My 700 was from the second batch into the UK and has flown with the supplied clunk line until last Sunday - it fell off. I've yet to get the tank out but what probably helped my clunk tubes life was that I'm running a crankcase pressure system - no exhaust gas.

A slightly off topic question here, so please forgive me. What diameter fuel tubing are you all using! I needed some more for my 700, and when I looked on Midlands site, they sell 2mm ID tube and state it's for 'up to 50 size'. When I measured the bore of the Align green tubing, it is 2.5mm ID. FL just sell it as silicon fuel tube, no size mentioned. Do 90's require larger bore tube?

Sorry to butt in, but guessed you all wont mind!

Bringing up an old post here, but does anyone have a supplier in the UK for Hayes black clunk line any more? It seems rare as hen's teeth. . .

Can anyone recommend a decent quality clunk line, the one I purchased recently has been breaking down after about 2 months...

if I can get hold of it I use hirobo clunk linethe kyosho and ripmax works wellbut remember if you are using high nitro fuel the line will break down fairly quicklyand if you've ever read a thunder tiger instruction manual it tells you to replace the clunk line every monthI do mine about twice a year
