  • Wildcat Fuel

I recently got back into nitro and have been using 30% Wildcat fuel which I have had no problems with and best of all its cheap.I noticed in America theres some speculation about the continuing availability of this fuel and noticed at Lhc where I bought my last lot of fuel they have no heli fuel avaliable now.Anybody heard anything about this.

I think in general Dave nitro is becoming harder to obtain. You need a license in the UK to buy 30% so maybe LHC just can't be bothered with the hassle. It hasn't been a popular fuel for a long while now although it smells nice and I've got a garage full

Didn't realise you use Wildcat Dave, wonder why it became unpopular as it seems to work well and if I can't get Wildcat its certianally going to be a lot more expensive for any other 30% fuel which you probably really need to get the power out of a 50 size engine.Would have bought more fuel if I would have know so I'd have a big stash like yours

Dave, happy to part with some if you run low and can't get hold of any. I use what I can get hold of Dave. The Wildcat came from a member who went electric only, it was cheap so it's going in the tank. I mix 30 with 12 or 15 to give me something in between as the 105 runs well on 20ish and I wouldn't notice the extra. Give 20% a go on the 55 mate, you won't notice much difference and it's cheaper. Again, remember to buy 30% you need to apply for a license costing £36 I think. Not worth the aggro IMO

i think you will find that when electric models took off and nitro sales fell lhc didn't re-stock on nitro fuel
once all stock is gone i think you will find the only wildcat fuel you'll lay your hands on will be stashed in the sheds of modelers that stocked up before they went electric
with the need for a license to buy 30% nitro fuel just change to 20% or the 25% optifuel as its less agro
