  • nitro content 23% max

dunno if any of you are aware but it is no longer allowed to mix any higher than 23% nitro BY VOLUME I think youl still get 25% but shops are only allowed to sell above this for the next year. Provided they have stocks as nobody in the eu is no longer allowed to mix above this.

    BUMMER or what

thanks guys n gals you probly know this already but thought id throw it out there incase you didn't

    cheers terry

Yet another nail in the nitro coffin now then. Looks like nitro will not be able to compete power wise with electric as I've seen some engines running 30% every bit as powerful as electric (from the observer's point of view!). I personally only use 20% as that's enough for my style of flying but can imagine it'll really affect some.

I mix 30 and 15, end up somewhere in the middle and it's plenty for the 105, I thought with the introduction of the big block engines the nitro content could be reduced in any case IE designed for 20% from the off.

15 or 20% is enough for 105's, 120's and even 91's for that matter if tuned properly. Bit of a bugger for 50's etc though.

I found the info on Weston fuels website and spoke to some young lad and since posting on here I have spoken to both alan at Weston and model tecknics and it seems its 25% max

so optifuel user your still ok as opti 30 is only about 22.5ish % nitro (give or take) as they mix by weight but those that mix by volume(which is pretty much every 1 else) will only be able to supply 25%nitro wich is high enough but not quite the 30 lol

but remember shops can sell any nitro content for about a year provided its on the shelf already

I don't know why and I couldn't find any info which is why I picked the phone up and apparently if you mix up morethan 25% nitro the authorities say they will bang you up for 2 years
