  • Gas engine tuning

    Hi all.
anyone have any tips on how to get the mixture set right on a zenoah G231 PUH that is in the bergen intrepid - walbro carb & the big K&N filter as used on x-cell gas.
I have read a few threads that seem to indicate the mixture is critical on these mills, I wonder if this is causing the tail probs im having.
    Thanks

A gas engine which is not running smoothly will upset the tail because it will be giving pulses of power - this will cause the tail to wag.

A good starting number for the low needle will be 1 and 1/2 turns open and the top will be around 1 and 3/8 turns.

    What oil/petrol mix are you using ? -- I prefer 40 to 1 mixing.

If it's not fun, your not doing it right !!
