Here are some pics of my X5 with its night rig on, and some sky painting shots. for the lights, just used some led strips I got from hobbypartz.com for under the canopy, I wrapped a strip of white LED's around my battery area so the glow would radiate out toward the canopy. the stock canopies are thin enough to illuminate when backlit. for the main blades, I disected a few led's off of some of the light strips, and wired them together in parallel so that they lit up with a 1s battery. I simply ziptied some msr batteries to the blade grips, and stole some connectors off my pile of Havoc Heli carnage for the wiring.
more detail on the blades can be found here.
for the shots, I took my point and shoot, a small tripod, and the garbage can at the field (you can see the garbage can and tripod in the third pic, lower left, lol). I set the camera for a long exposure (my camera can be set to leave the shutter open for up to 15 seconds in "manual" mode). at night with any moving light source, the effect is a light trail, or ribbon.
for the still shot on the dugout bench, I left the shutter open for 2 seconds

here is a shot with the camera on the ground under the tail pointing upward. kinda cool, but partly washed out because the lights are so bright.
