Awesome flying as ever from Duncan.
Although I will add I thought it was quite a tame flight, but in his usual well controlled style. I've seen it recently when he's flown it like he stole it!!! ;-) That models been thrashed about the sky to within an inch of its life!
Wayne did well to keep up with the video :-)

He certainly has found an aggressive side to his flying of late

Judging by the temperature reference I feel it was the 3gx.
Great flight,iffy camera work though.

Hey.
Unless changed for that video, as it has been talked about, this model was running a 3G last weekend.
Duncan has not long started flying a 3GX on a 600EFL, he got a couple sent to him in the middle of the season last year and felt he could not realistically risk jeopardising his competition results flying new FBL controllers without having the time required to fully tune them to his liking.
Last time I spoke to the both of them it was planned to fit a 3GX at some point and also get his new OS 105 + power boost pipe fitted into his 700N combined with a DFC head, as he's keen to try it.
He does like the 3G on the cyclic's though, his favoured tail gyro is the very capable CSM SL720 with an Align DS650 tail servo. I think he's using straight 2s Lipo to the eCCPM servos and a CSM drop down to the DS650 tail servo, but I have seen a FP 8amp reg in there as well along with other components so it's hard to keep up :-)
He has expressed a liking of the 3GX tail gyro I might add, whether it will replace his CSM I doubt it, but it's a positive thing coming from a pilot able to work the tail rotors hard in constant piro reversal manouvers.
I have had him flying my models when they were running 3GX's for more advanced feedback, which is always good and he showed it to be more than capable. As is Stuart Mott in more recent times with his 700E's!

How do Align feel about him using a tail gyro with their fbl system that has one.
Chris
Hey.
Well, obviously they'd prefer it I'm sure if he used it, but at his level you've got to use what works for you. Also Duncan has worked very closely with CSM at times, so this gyro is at a level of performance he likes.
The 3GX is the next level in Aligns FBL controller units and will ultimately get better and better. He is providing feedback as expected to assure its constant evolution into a much better flying FBL controller.

Cheers Ian,IMHO the tail on the 3gx is bloody good anyway,a vast improvement over some of their other stand alone units.![]()
