I will hopefully bring the big electric ec145 for a first outing, but we'll see how far I get this week to get it actually flying.......but have others to bring like the BK117 and a R22

Well finally managed to get along to my local Vario show and wondered why I've not been before...superb site and an even greater range of scale helis to looks at... I should have arrived earlier but didnt, so by the time I was parked I think I was the last flier in ... great weather as well with 26C plus so I now have a sore head.

Below are a few pics from the day and I even managed to get the R22 flying...what a machine! I have some videos as well so will post these up soon.

Yes it was a good day indeed. The turbine Lama is a lovely model and it is the first time i have seen it for real. I fancy a turbine heli myself but would have to sell my fixed wing turbine model to fund it.

    Default Vario meeting

Here are some photo's i took at last weeks Vario meeting at Skelmersdale. I took several shots with my stills function on the camcorder so the quality won't be that good.

    Hi Timelord,

I'm glad you like my Pod & Boom Turbine machine.

It is made by Scalecopter in germany and called a ZYCLONE V2

It uses a JetCat SPT5-5 Turbo prop engine, with the ECU set to the Heli settings.
As it runs it's own JetCat govenor system, you can run upto 3 selectable rotor speeds.

It flies liek a dream and the Vario do was only it's 4 & 5th flight.

The Lama, which I also flew, belongs to a very good friend of mine - David Cadman. It is the Vario 1/4 scale version with a Jakodofski engine.

As you may have seen - it also flies superbly and I just love being able to fly it for the owner.
