Default Help setting up KK5.5 controller

I bought one of e x525 v3 quads off eBay. Been trying to set it up but I'm struggling. I want to fly it in the x configuration, so flashed the firmware to xcopter and I think I have everything plugged in correctly, but the props don't move the way I would expect.

Thing is, I can't work out if the re-flashing of the software has done anything, or whether I have a motor in the wrong socket.

Could anyone post a pic of the rx connections, and maybe a few links to the correct software to use to reprogram my controller board.
    Cheers,
    Simon

Think I've got it sorted. Can see why people get ****ed off with these things. So many variations of software, conflicting instructions etc.

Only thing now is I've been supplied with 3 normal props and only one counter clockwise prop. Guess the maiden will have to wait.

The best site for info on the KK5.5 is here, Improved firmware for the KK multicopter, also the HK KK. - RC Groups
The guys who write the firmware are on the forum.

    Cheers,

That's where I found out that the newer 4.7 firmware had a different motor order to the original x configuration instructions.

Messed around with it for a few batteries this morning. Can't get it trimmed out, seems to have a mind of it's own. Not very successful to be honest.

Turn the gains up Si and make sure you balance the props.

All sorted, out of frustration I tried reversing the yaw gyros and hey presto she flew practically hands off. Everything was set correct to the instructions, but again it looks like they have changed something in the 4.7 software which I have not spotted. Gains are 40% roll, 0 % on pitch and 50% on yaw. Says something about tweaking the pitch pot to suit your style, but at the moment I have no idea what it is supposed to do ( something about I and P values? )

On this thread you will see there is a PID tuning guide.
In short the P is gain, but affects roll & pitch hence pitch pot does nothing.
I term is roughly heading hold, how slow or fast it returns.

Thanks for that. Quite amazed how well it flew, it was only seconds away from being kicked over to the next door neighbours !! Will have a look through that info.
