Default Turnigy Battery pack for Trex 450 pro 3GX

    Hey

Im not 100% up on my battery packs just yet and would like to know what batteries would be suitable for my Trex 450 Pro 3GX.

Going by the recommendation from aligns website I've picked these Turnigy 2200mha 3S 30c. My flying at the moment is more hovering/small circuits/inverted hovering, nothing to taxing. Will these be good or should I go for a higher "c" rating?

    What do you lot think?

Thanks for any help or suggestions

    Those will be fine.
To be honest, I've found the 30C Turnigy packs to be longer lasting than the higher C packs, in terms of cycles. But that may be a fluke!

Those are the same ones I have in my 450 and they're more than capable... I bought them for the Align starter and I bought the 450 because I wanted to use the batteries for something apart from the starter.

I can't tell you how good they are as far as number of cycles is concerned, but they're more than enough for any flying I'll (ever) be doing with the 450.

    Thanks

I will be ordering 4 packs to start with so it gives me long flight times when I'm at the field.

    Hi,
yep, I have both the turnigy and Zippy 2450 30C sets on my 450 FBL and there isn't much to pick between them. If anything i prefer the zippy flightmax cells but the downside (if there is one) is that the zippys can by a very tight squeeze to get under the canopy. they don't move however in hard 3D.

Velcro and straps would mean they shouldn't move anyway...

I have some 30-40C Turnigy 2200mAh and some 35-45C Turnigy 2200mAh. Both types are cheap and more than enough for my 450 Pro

totally, thanks for mentioning that, i wasn't intending to indicate that i relied on the canopy alone to retain the cells but re-reading my post it may hjave been construed that way.

I just thought I'd mention it in case you weren't using velcro

Have a look on electricwingman or giantcod. The gensace 2200 25c are about £15 and the 40c are just over £20 these are getting good reviews and you can order from UK. Way better packs than the turnigys according to US users. I have the 40c for my pro running the scorpion motor and get way more power from these than my turnigy 40c. Hope this helps

I do most of the time...lol only joking mate. I use patch cabinet cat5 cable straps which are just double sided velcro and i get these in abundance at work but the turnigy battery strips are absolutely awesome having bought some of those recently.

Just had a look at the gens ace batteries and there well reviewed. I'm thinking of ordering 2 of these to try them out.

Anyone else used these and can you recommend them?

I've used them, they seem to punch above their rating. Seem like well made packs to. Plus it's from a uk supplier which is a bonus.
