    Hi Rich

firstly my apologies, wouldn't let me reply to you unless I included your previous message as a quote, i think (don't you just love modern technology haha)

The transmitter is a Spektrum DX6i, the receiver is a Spektrum 6100e. The receiver is lit with solid orange and everything works absolutely perfectly.
To be fair, its only loosely set on the bench at the moment with everything plugged in firmly however, nothing is 100% fixed in place yet as I wanted to make sure everything worked first before fixing it with double sided.

I could take a gamble and take it outside a spool it up and go for it but I just don't see the point of lifting it 10ft in the air for it to clear off into the distance only for it to come down to terra firma as a ball of scrap.

That excerpt is very useful however, I've done that and rebound it again just as an extra precaution.

The weird thing is that the led on the esc doesn't do something that either that passage of Horizon Hobby would have expected.

Now, I've brought up the monitor screen on my tx and I notice that if I pull the throttle stick to the bottom and hold it, the little pointer stays firmly at the extreme left of the slide. If I release it however, it moves a fraction so in theory, its no longer at 0. If I do the same at full throttle, it does the same - if I hold its at max it stays full but if I let go of it, the little markers move slightly.

Might be nothing but will try and rebind and take it from there and see what happens.

    Keep you posted.

    Cheers,
    Nick

I take it the Tx and Rx have been bound to each other (just checking) and your getting a solid orange light on the receiver?

Also what is the full Rx model?

    Aw shucks.
Tried it but its made no difference

It binds perfectly and everything seems to work perfectly except the LED on the esc flashes rapid red instead of staying constant green

    DOH!!

    Frustrating....Much!

    Hi

I've tried to find some info and have come up with nothing relevant. I would not try it with the red light on either just in case

The only thing I can think of at the moment is its faulty. But I'm not sure it would even power up if it was faulty. Can you get a wiring diagram of the heli the 2 in 1 came out of? Might have something connected different on your heli than the original heli.

    Hi Rich.
Been a manic weekend with family so not been near the pc for a couple of days.
I've had a chat with the guys I bought the 2-in-1. They are a really reputable model shop up North and have been absolutely spot on, even offering to take the unit back to test, completely at their expense.
Will probably take them up on the offer during this week once the jubilee craziness has ended.

In the mean time I've just had another crack at using the Spektrum 6110e receiver with the DX6i, the standard Century esc and the stand alone gyro.
It wires up slighly differently as the standard esc has a specific switch signal wire but its wired the only way it can go and woah!!! I get a completely different response from this set up.
We know that Walkera insist on using a different coding method for the rx's and tx's however I was hoping that the esc would be a pretty standard affair however....
Instead of getting all systems working correctly (but wrong LEDs - like the eflite kit) as soon as I plug the battery into the heli moth the motors start up - main and tail and that's despite me having the throttle stick at zero, throttle trim at zero and throttle curve at zero for 0%

    I'm stumped.

I think its either time to bite the bullet and try and pick up a dirt cheap devo tx and rx or maybe a standard rx and tx off ebay...I think it's got me beat
