    Default Full metal head upgrade

    Hi guys,

thinking of getting a metal head for my Titan, there is one for sale on bmfa classifieds, the brand is 'best bits', and is all metal (inc blade grips)

I've never heard of this make before - anyone else know of them?

    cheers

You get what you pay for in this hobby. If i was you, i would get a metal head from a reputable manufacturer. If i recall, Kasama do one for the Raptor.

Never heard of "best bits" but i doubt i would trust it on a heli.

I agree with Aidi, also Quick UK are another manufacturer of good metal Raptor heads.

I think Best bits are sold on E-bay from Hong Kong, dont know about quality though, I have a Kasama and a Quick on mine and tend to stick with plastic blade grips to take the pain in a crash as something has to give.
    All the best STEVE.

I seem to recall the 'best bits' rotorheads were actually made in the UK.. and the company which brought them out were actually better known for making sex toys..

They were quite well known when the Raptor was the 'norm' and align had only just brought out their first 450 heli. Quite respected back then..

Managed to see the ad on the BMFA which you were talking about.. and it is infact the 'BEST BITZ' Rotorhead. This came out at around 2003, but pretty sure that these are not being manufactured anymore.

There was a review of done by Russ Deakin in in the February 2004 MHW(Still got the magazine review if interested.). When it came out the deluxe version was £250.00 for the complete head.

    Default CNC upgrades

James, I would be worried about obtaining spare parts for any non branded CNC upgrades. I have not done any CNC upgrades with my mini titan yet but when the time comes I will probably just upgrade the bits that don't break in a 'normal' crash like the swash plate (PV0809 @ £25.00), mixer arms (PV0805 @ £12.00), flybar control levers (PV0807 @ £13.00) , see-saw hub (PV0804 @ £12.00), main rotor hub (PV0801 @ £20.00) and washout hub (PV0808 @ £5.00). Even this 'conservative' upgrade using std T/T CNC parts would costs £87.00 but at least you could get individual replacement parts if you break or wear anything out.

    Have fun

My thoughts exactly - would be a pain in the butt to get parts for - no worries

I have a Hobby Taiwan (HTR) brand all metal Raptor head that I have thought about selling. I got it with an airframe some time ago and it has never been used. I noticed recently the Maverikk metal head looks exactly the same and I suspect (just a guess) the Maverikk is just the HTR rebranded.

I don't know if it is considered any good or what.
