    Default BLC 40 programming problems

Hi, As its abysmal weather outside I have spent the morning fitting an ACE RC BLC40 to my Mini Titan. I now has a new ACER LAB AL-2215-14 motor but the problems were the same before I replaced the original OBL 29/35 - 10H motor. Prior to this I was using a cheap 40A ESC without soft start with the DX7 and AR6200 and all functions worked correctly. Now after fitting the BLC 40 the motor refuses to stop when throttle hold is operated unless the hold position is below -10 on the tx. In idle up 1 and 2 with both throttle curves are set to 0 throughout and the motor runs continuously at about 40% in these modes.

I have tried various programming option including brake on/off, automatic and standard motor settings, govenor mode on/off but to no avail.

Current all the settings on the esc are at default.

    My questions are :

    1. is the ESC duff ?

    2. have I missed something in the DX7 programming or is this normal ?

Any help would be much appreciated

    Hi,

First of all, it is important to calibrate the ESC with a "test" throttle curve as 0%-25%-50%-75%-100%

Then you can do the other settings

My set up with the ACE RC BLC40 and the the stock OBL 29/35 are :

    Battery Protection = standard
    Motor Timing = auto
    Brake Mode = no brake
    Throttle Sensitivity = quick
    Flying Mode = without governor = 5 tones-three tones

It works OK with my Futaba T7C

    Hope this will help you

Thanks for your reply Marc, I went through all those steps but will try it again later this week just to see if it cures the need for a - 15 throttle on hold and will post back on here.

    Have fun
