Default Chance to get a 600EFL Pro kit...

    Hi

I have the chance to get a 600EFL Pro kit (the air frame, motor and blades one). I was looking at getting the super combo and was looking to go either V-Bar/AR7200BX with it and maybe upgrade the tail servo and use a better ESC than the combo supplied castle creations ESC.

Is this still a good value kit? I will be saving around £350 over the combo kit which in time will pay for the electrics that I need to complete the build, with my choice of gear, instead of selling the bits I won't use to buy the bits I do.

    What do you think?

    Thanks

To be honest, the 600EFL Pro is a pretty awesome heli as a standard kit! You 'could' throw an uprated tail servo and a different ESC on there, but I think unless you're very experienced you would struggle to tell the difference.

Just go with the super combo you can't go wrong!

    Loving my 600 too.

Standard kit except added the magnetic canopy mounts (so much easier to use), a mini vbar and 105mm tail blades.
Also ditched the regulator for a Hyperion LiFe battery....I guess it's not that standard after all!!

Running a low headspeed of 1800rpm with 3000mah (20c) batteries in the sunny weather on Sunday gave 7 minute flight times.

I upped the head speed to 2150rpm which gave huge high speed loops, shudder to think what it's like on the even faster head speeds.

Yes the combo kit flies great - I'd replace the 3GX for an AR7200BX though.

    Hi

Thanks for your help. I have now been offered the kit (not the super combo) at a price where it will be cheaper to buy the align servo's for cyclic/rudder, castle creations ESC and a Ar7200BX and it works out to be £40 less than the super combo kit.

Im in no hurry just yet to complete it as I'm only a beginner and need to nail my hovering in all orientations of the 450 pro before I even think about building it.

If you go for the combo kit you'll get a warranty, you don't often need it but for £40 I would not risk it. You just know that you are going to end up with a vbar on it. Get the combo and fly the 3GX until you can get hold of a vbar.

Yes, just replace the 3GX really and the rest is good to go!! The Castle esc is very good now the issues have been fixed. They arguably have the best governor system too. Best place to spend money would be the FBL unit. Tail servo maybe... although i have to say... its works pretty damn fine as it is. I have Torq on my 550 and a KDE tail setup... the 600 feels just as good i have to say with the stock align servos. Stick some Rail blades on it too if you have the funds!!! A whole new world of cyclic control with those bad boys!!!

Oh yeh... and some quick uk magnetic canopy mounts!!! They are a must imo... the canopy can be a pain on the 600

I think the best way would be to save a few more pennies and go for the full super combo kit and then replace the 3GX with the AR7200BX. I was worried about the Castle cremations ESC but the kit now has the ice2 which is reviewed very well. I have seen some very good deals for the super combo too which would save even more in the long run.

The mounts do seem a must. I would be getting them almost straight away. Also the DS650 is very well reviewed too. For some reason I thought the tail servo had issues but further searching suggest the lower head speeds to cause poor tail hold and can be fixed with high head speeds or bigger tail blades (105mm).

Now I need to tip the sofa's up....

Thanks for all your advice and help with this
