    Default Trex 600 12S noisy?

    Hi guys!
I am finally finishing my build to 12S.
Since this is my first Trex, i'm not sure, but to me it has strange sound to me.
What you think? Is that a normal sound? Comparing to my Protos500 is too noisy.

Sounds a bit noisy to me, have you spaced the pinion to main gear as it sounds a bit tight to me?

    Cheers

Does sound like a tight gear train, make sure the pinion is at the correct hieght so the tapered part is not in the main gear.....and get the soft start programmed asap!

I took some photos. So i must have some space between pinion and main gear?
Maybe is that the reason for fast start also, because ESC is brand new and manual said that Soft Start is by default (the factory setting)...?
    Thanks!

That does look tight, I would back off slighty & allow some backlash.

Also if soft start is default & ESC is new then have you set the max & min throttle positions also, I would also go through the programming procedure to make sure correct settings selected.

I set my pinion height so I have less than 1 mm protruding above the main gear, your does seem a little high there mate. Also you can tell if the mesh is to tight because there will be a lot oif white dust developing around the main gear frame cut out. How I set my pinion mesh is by first finding the gears high spot i do this byu backing the gear out ever so slightly so i can rick the motor pinion whilst holding the main gear steady. I then push the motor pinionin a little at a time till I can no longer rock the pinion then ease it out just a little. You then rotate the main gear a few degrees whilst checking the motor pinion for slack when there is no slack thats whats called a high point of the gear. It's at this high point that you now set your mesh it can be done with a small peice of paper by backing the pinion right off placing the paper in & pushing the pinion right the way in till it crushes the paper lock the motor bolts up & wind the paper out by rotating the main gear it will come out all crimpled up. your mesh is now spot on.

Sounds ok to me. The Trex is louder than the protos anyway because the gears are in direct contact whereas the protos has a belt drive. The protos is more along the lines of Logo quietness. Also without any main blades it will exagerate the sound. Adjust the mesh if needed but i don't think it will make any real difference in noise but it will be easier on the lipo's
