Default 600E Pro Flybar Version 780 Gyro Gain Issues

    Hi,

After waiting months for my ESC, I have finally finished the build and went out and did a test flight this weekend. Everything appears spot on apart from a slow wagging left & right on the tail. I have tried setting gain from 20% upto 50% and no luck. My 450 holds solid at 38%.

What Gain % are people running on the 780 Gyro with a DX8 ?
I have noticed that the tail blade grips have some play would this be causing my issue ?

    Thanks for your advice.

    Steve

Thats a bit low for the 600efl pro unless you changed the tail drive gearing to the older ratio ones.
Think you need to running at least 85% to get good tail authority with the std gearing.
    I have id1 at 85% and Id2 95% on the fbl version.

I am flying the flybar version with align 780 gyro and the wagging is happening when hovering.
I will try increase the throttle and see what happens.

You will probably find there is binding in your tail grips,we have seen this on Aligns many times.

I bet you were in Heading Hold mode and if you put the gyro in rate mode it will stop this slow wag.

I do not believe I have any binding. I was in heading hold but I have never had any trouble before

Not sure what to do about the grips. I will try rebuilding, I might see if I can put a washer on the tail rotor hub to reduce the play.

Binding as in not smooth, not on the limit,is what chris is saying...disconnect the control rod link from the tail and manually control the slider,it needs to be silky smooth..

Any loctite in the small brass bushes will cause it,or over tighteng of the tiny philips screws.

I disconnected the control rod and the tail is as smooth as silk and so is the servo and control rod movement.

Not sure what to do next, might try tyjudd idea and reassemble the tail control hub to reduce/remove the play in the blade grips.

I quick question about the control rod, the metal cover on the control rod is that might to be tight within the tail control guide ?
