Default Crashed my 550 today! Advise needed please.

Well, I kind of got it all wrong today while doing a rolling tail slide!!

Not pulled her apart yet, but both frames, base plate, boom, etc etc....

Has anyone used the 2mm Fusano frame sides? Do they fit OK, or do I stick with the std ones?

Are there any main shafts available yet for the DFC head kit?

How much better is the QuickUK swash? Is it worth the extra dosh?

On a lighter note, The TDR is friggin awesome!! Had 4 flights with that today, and man, that is an incredible heli!!

Rebuilt one with the green 2mm g10 frames and the fit and finish is spot on.

When my 550 tried to destroy a concrete post that was in the middle of a hedge, it came out a bit worse for wear. The frame was destroyed as was quite a lot of other stuff. I replaced the frame with a 2mm G10 one and I've been very happy with it.

Since fitting it I've had one other "heavy" smash when trying to be a bit clever whilst inverted and I cam down very heavy on the head and I had expected the worst. The head actually punched the main shaft right through the bearings and smashed the main gear but the frame was absolutely fine! The top main bearing was pushed right through the bearing housing which split so there must of been a hell of a lot of pressure on the frames but there was no damage - cool.

    Cheers,
    Simon

i have these sitting in my loft :

Thickened Carbon Fiber Main Frame/2.0mm (one pcs)

waiting for the next big smash which i know will come sooner rather than later

they are exactly the same as the original Align 1.6mm frames and half the price

I have bright Dayglo Orange Fusano frames on 2 of my 550Es. I love them. Easier to work on than the CF frames in my H&HO.
Been there and done that, but never stop learning.
Now too many Helis to mention?

i used thr 2mm Fusano carbon side frames 'cos they have a bigger cut out for the Scorpion motor and i have to say they are excellent. The 550 is much more rigid than when using the standard align side frames. Also, they survived a subsequent crassh fine. Money well spent
