    Default Dx7s & dx8

Looking to update my Tx and most likely going to go Spektrum again.. before I get rid of my trusty DX7.. are there still the problems or so called problems with the new line of Spekky Tx's?

There still seems to be more glitches on the 8 then the 7 but its going to have to be your own preferences.
Today's outlook is fine for flying.

Starting to see more and more 8s at my flying clubs and everyone seems pretty pleased with them

Currently one significant software issue on the DX8 (relates to mixes and a way to cause the radio to restart ).

Hard to justify even thinking about the DX7s though as the price, when compared to the DX8 is just too close thanks to the offer on the DX8 with 2 extra receivers.

Check out the prices over at Inwood Models : Welcome to Inwood Models - radio controlled models

Plenty of the new generation ones at my club flying tens of thousands of pounds worth of models and we havent had a problem yet!

Main issue you'll face at the moment is a complete lack of stock of the DX8 in the UK, except a few around at stupid prices.

Hmm do I or dont i then if theres still glitches?

Cheers for linky Mark, I was looking at Al's and they come out around the same prices. Like you, I am thinking whats the point with the 7S considering the minute price difference.. theres also lacking a few functions including only 2 flight modes.. not that I use all three

EDIT: I type too slow... my replies been covered already LOL!

Really happy with my DX8, I couldn't ask for anything more. No problems at all here just like my DX7.

the DX7s does have a specific governor function which takes seconds to set up on your nitro and works very well....not sure the 8 has this ?

sure its not backlit but i never plan to fly in the dark

I have the 7s but didn't realise it only had two idle-up modes. Compared to my mates 8 it looks almost exactly the same but with a few more switches to control the extra channel. If you can find an 8 go for it, but the 7s will be fine for most of us.

    Yes the DX8 has that.

The DX7S has a lot of what people need, but with prices as they are right now there is no reason to prefer it over the DX8.

That's going to be pretty easy as right now Inwoods and pretty much everyone else, Fast Lad, Midlands etc. have no stock.

If you find someone with stock it will probably be at a silly price.

So once they have stock again you know you have a recent model.

Beyond that, check the firmware version on delivery, if is it before 2.02 then it is old stock from before the 'fixed' version.

2,02 onwards should be fine, but the newer the better.
