Default DX8 to DX8 buddy setup

Ok so Im trying to buddy people using 2 x DX8's and I cant seem to assign the trainer switch to anything other than the popper "trainer" button on top. The problem with this is that as I fly thumbs its awkward to hold the button in and get full movement on the stick. Also I keep hitting the T/H switch.
Ive tried sifting thru the menus but cant change it. I did manage to assign it to the aux2 switch but it didnt actually work even though it said it was there on the screen.

Apart drilling the Tx casing and physicaly moving the switch has anyone else managed to move the trainer switch to another one?

Hi I just got my 8 out to have a look at this and no I cannot see a way of changing it, but I kind of expected them to only allow it to be on the button as it defaults one way and no other switch does. Well I suppose they could of used the L or R trim maybe a la dx7.
Do you have quite small hands as I found really no problem to have my thumb on the collective and my index finger on the trainer button. It isn't comfortable but you you aren't flying like that, you just sort of mimic what the student would be doing on the collective so there isn't a massive jump if you release the trainer button ( at which point you would move your hand to its normal flying position). IMO you should be instructing the student to "do this manoeuver" not let them fly around willy nilly and try and take over if they get out of shape. Unless you know what shape they were supposed to be making how do you know they were out of it?
Anyway nope I couldn't move its assignment, and if it was a big problem I probably would go with your suggestion of physical movement, although I would probably opt for mounting a second toggle type switch in parallel mounted on the outside of the case where I wanted. A guitar foot switch pushed into my crack, the natural clench reaction taking over from the student instantaneously.
