Default Help setting up my Quark

    Hi

I am in the progress of setting up my Quark but I am having trouble with the servo.

I have followed the set up instructions and everything seams ok but when I change the gyro settings to +50 the servo will not self centre. What am i doing wrong?

    I have a Trex 450xl with a new Align DS425M servo

    Thanks

    Matt

what do you mean changed to +50? is this the gain your referring to?

if the gyro is in heading hold mode then it will not centre?

if you can clarify what you mean i will try to help :-)

Hi Sorry I meant the heading hold. I thought it was a problem because my last set up didn't do it.
Still getting used to the terminology

In heading hold, the tail will not go back to centre, in rate mode it should

    Hi,
Still having trouble setting up my gyro. I have followed the instructions and watched the set up videos and it's still spinning anti clockwise as soon as I spool up.

I have tried adding the setting again, rebinding, the tail blades are going in the right direction when moving the rudder and moving the tail when checking the gyro. I have even reversed the gyro in set up to check it's right.

    What am I doing wrong????

Thanks for the reply but..... could you go into a bit more detail as I have (or it looks like to me) the same tail set up as whats on the videos.

What do I need to do to reverse the gain? is it in the Tx setting and reverse the gyro?

reverse the channel you have the gain lead plugged into on the radio.

you really should make sure things are as they should be before flying though as your asking for trouble to keep doing this trial and error. i.e just you yaw it by hand on the bench and watch the tail blades go the right way.

Still no good. This is driving me mad. I have no idea what I have done or haven't.

Every time I spool up it starts to spin anti clockwise what ever setting I have it on.

    Any other ideas???

    Thanks
    Matt

    you have something reversed!

i doubt your reversing the correct channel on your TX. your not wanting to reverse the rudder, your reversing the gain channel. if the rudder is going the wrong way then you need to reverse that as well on your radio then redo the gyro setup.

My main blades go clock wise and my tail blades go anti clock wise when looking from the side with the tail to the left.

I have checked my receiver and my plugs are in the right ports.

I have checked both my gyro and my rudder and they both move the same way either by moving the tail (gyro) or by moving the stick(rudder)
When I reverse channel 5 (gear on receiver) all that happens is that my settings on the Tx go from HH to rate and vice versa. the lights on my gyro change round as well

When I check the gyro by hand and alter the the rates I can see the that the tail blades move more.

Can you see something I'm doing wrong???

all you need to do is manually yaw the heli and see if the tail goes the opposite way, if not then reverse the gain.

i'm sorry i can't explain it more than this but it really is that simple.

once you have the gain channel in the right direction then redo the gyro setup.

depending on the radio you have you can reverse the switch itself that controls the gain to get the gyro in HH/normal (btw i have NEVER set up a gyro for normal, ever). i would just adjust the end points in your radio for the gain channel up/down or even change them from +100 to the - side to get the switch reversed.

if your trying to fly with the gyro in normal then that is your problem, assuming everything is going the right way!. unless you have a perfect mechanical setup it will always spin a little to a lot depending on how it is setup.

anyway the bottom line is manually yaw it, reverse gyro, redo setup, put gyro in HH mode and your done.

    cheers
