    Default Spartan FBL Vortex VX1

Just read the Helidaily article on the Spartan FBL Vortex VX1
    here:-
Coming Soon: Vortex VX1 Flybarless System from Spartan RC «

    vx1_01.jpg

The feature that caught my eye was
Four configuration memories that can be selected in-flight for different flying styles. They can be mapped to Normal, Idle1, Idle2 & Hold or as the user requires.

    Thats pretty neat.

    Tim.

With the Datapod (which you need), expect it to be near enough VBar territory price wise.

I think Angelos is looking hopefully around May for release.

Interesting, I have held buying my next FBL unit to see when this is coming.

I didn't realise the data pod is really small, not much bigger than the Futaba controller box.
And can be mounted to the heli.

Bet you see one or 2 at Charmouth, interesting why they haven't released it sooner really.

You HAVE to buy the data pod? Then surely it will be bundled in with and the price set accordingly??

I think a lot of it has to do with waiting for the new generation sensors to become available I'm sure it's gonna rock, let's hope the pricing is set nicely

I think there are plans for PC config software, but certainly initially Datapod's the only way of adjustment.

Not sure on a bundled package.

Last I read, Angelos still hadn't made any final decisions regarding bundles...

But given that he's suggested the vortex plus data pod should be less than a vbar I think it's best to just treat it as a cost of the system.

I thought I read somewhere that the data pod will be the PC interface as well?

    to clear up some questions-

    1. yes you need the datapod to program it-there maybe other options later.
    2. the reason it has taken so long is indeed due to the sensors they wanted to use.
    3. no decision yet on combos but will be made shortly.

hope that helps somewhat mean time :-)

I shouldn't think the data pod would be bundled with all the units as it would mean if you were equipping several helis you'd be paying out for hardware you didn't need.
I'm looking forward to the release, hopefully they'll raise the bar for FBL units like the Quark did for Gyros!
