  • DX7 No Power

I have just got all of my equipment back from SMC having had various work done. The transmitter was fine when I got home and all I did was rename one of the models (pressing two buttons and powering on), did the rename, confirmed and then powered up normally and there is no power or display. Thought perhaps the battery was flat, plugged it in charger to charge it and the charger reported 'No Battery'

    Anybody got any ideas?

    Regards,
    Toni

Sounds like a blown fuse to me.

If you take the back off the Tx (carefully as wires are connected) - the fuse is mounted underneath the circuit board that sits in the middle of the Tx near the top. You need to remove the screws that mount that circuit board to the Tx to access the fuse.

The fuse is a push fit similar to a standard plug fuse.

      Cheers,
      Rob

Yep, internal fuse had blown. Replaced and back up and running. Thanks to all.

Did not have to remove the PCB either, pointy nose pliers and in an out in 10 seconds, luckily.

Only had a 5 amp fuse also, so will need to swap it out for a 3 amp one at some point

That's possibly because you're smart enough not to have plugged a regular 12V adapter into a DX7 instead of the charger you meant to plug in...

Fortunately when I did this it blew the fuse and nothing else.
