Been twiddling and fiddling with the T Rex 600 mechanics to make them fit properly into the fuselage
Mechanics needed to go back further than the Raptor ones so it will need to have the Lipo mounted up front of fuselage in front of the mechanics to get the C of G correct probably
Just gotta drill the hole thru the bottom for the mounting bolts
The boom mounted servo can stay in place and nothing fouls anywhere so the heli can be pretty much in its standard form with no modding to get it right
Its a bit of an art to get the belt thru the boom and the tail gearbox on and the belt tensioned but i have sussed a method now and its quite trouble free
I am going to get the new Align 6amp regulator for this one as it has 3 retract servos to handle as well as the normal onboard electronics
specs will be
600L motor and standard esc,
611/9256
3152`s on cyclic
Not sure what Lipo yet
Heli is brand new so i want to test fly it as Pod n boom and test fly it in the fuselage with everything in its final position before strip down and painting
I'm told that it works well putting a cable tie through the tail gearbox to allow the boom to be pulled to tension the belt.
You then cut off the cable tie when its all done.
Dont know why I'm telling you this though Doesnt your TRex have one of those little motors on the end of the tail?
No its easy really, the belt is already attatched to the mechanics end on these,,you just have a bit of string with a weight on one end that will feed thru the boom,,you tie the belt to the unweighted end and then pull belt thru boom with said string, you then push the mechanics to the back of the fuselage and refit the tail gearbox fully
Then bring mechanics into mounting position and you can easily put your hand into the front to pull the boom back and get the tension right,,you can also easily reach the 3 nuts to clamp the boom up..
Whole process takes 5 mins tops
Shes gonna look and more importantly SOUND awesome,,,

How far does the boom stick out the rear of the Fuse????
Will you still get the tail cap on the fuse over the Tail rotor gearbox??
T Rex 600 donor mechanics are ready for flight testing now,i have a 6amp Align regulator comin from Phil Henderson for it to cope with the extra retract servos
3152`s all fitted and the ccpm is set up
611 is in and set up,Spectrum Rx is installed and awaiting the 6amp supply,,i can obviously pod n boom flight test with original Align 3amp bec for now
As soon as flight testing is done i will throw it into the unpainted fuselage and flight test it in its finished configuration, hopefully aim to do this by next weekend and then its off to Mark and Wayne for painting
Seeing Jimbobs one all shiny has given me great enthusiasm..
