  • Vibe 50 first flight!

    Guys,

Well mine had its maiden flight today..

It is built totally stock with no weight saving tried.. and running a 1900mah nicad up front with Spektrum receiver.

Model flew flawlessly.. was great.. initially had the standard paddles with the weights in but found it a bit docile.. so took the weights out.. now the roll rate is stunning but still tracks nicely!

Only got 2 tanks through as the weather started to get cold.. but so far so good!

    Setup is:

    OS50 Hyper
    MP5
    Solid G Gyro
    8900G Tail
    8915's Cyclic
    8231 Throttle.
    600mm Radix Main Blades
    Stock tail blades

Running 90% gain in the hover and 75% in aerobatics.. and she could take more..

Hope to get a bit more fuel through her ready for Charmouth.

    Yay! :)

    Cheers

Haha.. well it was cold as I was just out in a T-Shirt.. if I'd taken my jacket I would have stayed out longer but I was fooled by the sun and living in a sheltered part of town.. :)

hmm.. can I just say that obviously I was wearing more than just a T-Shirt.. just that my upper half was covered only by a T-Shirt before the jokes start!! :)

I flew Jason Larkin's Vibe 50 today. I also thought the cyclics were slow. At the time he had v-paddles fitted but now we tried stubs which made it much better. I had two flights with it, and by the end of the second flight I was getting a bit low and too comfortable with it. So I landed and give it back to him:(

Great model tho. Very locked in and has a tyipical Vibe feel. Wish the cyclics were faster as standard is my only cristism.

        Cheers

          Matt,

It's probably he just didn't have enough throw set up on the cyclic.. You can set it up with more pitch range and cyclic throw than the engine can handle.. It is far snappier than my 90.. and I could increase the throws yet more.. but won't! Somebody else I know had Stubs fitted to theirs but went back to the V's as the Stubs were far too responsive and snappy..

Can't wait to get out with it again.. but think it will have to wait 'till Charmouth.. boo :(

            This is interesting,

The way we had it setup with the 'v's with max swash travel the flip rate was very slow. I wonder if something else is wrong. On the top mixer arms it is in the furthest hole out, likewise the with the lower washout arms. I flew my vibe 90 before the 50 and the 90 was much faster.

How have you got yours setup?

            mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

            Cheers

                Matt/Jason,

I've got mine built exactly as per manual.. and it is nowhere near maxed out on throws.. however I am running the standard kit paddles.. might be worth trying them before putting the aftermarket ones on??

Gary, i see you have a different canopy on yours, was that aftermarket, and if so where did you get it from? Thinking of buying the vibe to line up alongside the 600Nitro.:)

No, it's not an aftermarket canopy. I ordered an extra canopy with my kit and sent it out to "Arizona Heli" for a pucker paint job. Bill Ludwig does great work.

                        Cheers

I can vouch for Bill's work too. He did both my Vibe 90's... and when the funds allow will be doing my 50 too :)

                          Cheers

if anyone wants a 5 flight old vibe then drop me a line. going to sell it, flies perfectly and not a mark on it.

sorry to go slightly off topic.

                            cheers
