I think they need to think about using smaller pads/metal plate!

You could mount 4 quarks on that plate!

it will look funny like that plus with all that exposed sticky stuff you will get loads of crap sticking to the pads as well.

We have smaller pads on order but the raw material is on long lead time. They should arrive for the official product launch in November. Meanwhile the early adopters will have to use their scissors

The prices are not finalised yet. Providing that production costs don't overrun we aim for RRP £135-140 for the metal case version and £115-120 for the plastic.

We are not discounting the ds760 unless customers decide the no longer want it. The ds760 has some nice features too. I like the convenience of the dedicated data port and the longer cables make it better suited for some helicopters (example rear mounting on Raptor). Also the larger size make it easier for us to do certain repairs like changing the cables. In any case firmware updates will provided as needed. In fact one is ready and will released once we get the chance to properly flight test it.

How about a DS760 Mk II , everything that the ds760 has plus a setup button and multi-colour led!

But to be honest, I find my ds760's easy to set up, especially now that I can enter setup using a bind plug, and not having to unplug a plug to update/setup. I think the ds760 will still be popular. I have 3 and have no intention of getting shot of them.

Reading through the FAQ's it seems the biggest differences are size, push button set up and suitability to micro helicopters. Aside from that what's the difference between this and our now 'old hat' 760's?

snapshot, yes a DS760 Mk II may one day materialise for the reasons you mentioned and some other ideas we have that can't fit on the small Quark package. However, I am afraid it will be at least 12 months before we starting thinking about this as we have some other projects to complete first.

xygax, there are some differences on the gyro hardware which do not allow the exact same firmware to run on both platforms. We will however continue to support the ds760 with it own firmware updates. The configuration tools also need to be update and new versions will become available for the Quark. You will need an adapter to use the blue-link as this now needs to be connected to the gyro's gain plug instead.

t-rex pedro, you are right, most improvements are made to better accommodate the small electric helicopters. However, overall the Quark is a better engineered gyro and the electronics are ready to support Futaba's SBUS when receivers become available. A firmware update will be required though.

Its good that the DS760 will carry on as most brought this because of the update feature,I know I did and thats why I got 3 of them.

Also like you say the longer leads help as its rear mounted on the Avant Aurora and has just the right length lead
