If the shaft length is right its ideal for a 700 being a 520kv.

I find the way manufacturers label motors confusing I am looking to swop the motor in one of my 600's as at present it has a 600m fitted and is currently on it's 2nd set of bearings even with regular oiling. Does anyone know of a chart / table of what motor fit's what heli.

Me to. If that motor is a 520kv and is for a 700, I have got 4x 750kv motors for my quad that are a fraction of the size, so I'm going to look in to it to try and understand it more

The four-digit code gives the stator geometry. For example 4025 means 40 mm diameter, 25 mm height. Or 5020 means large diameter (50 mm), but relatively flat (20 mm). Look at a photo of each, the difference is easy to see.
The Kv depends on the way it's wound and gives the RPM for 1 V (theoretical value).

For most heli owners, the best advice is IMHO, buy a motor that is proven to work in your heli. Otherwise, the lessons tend to be harsh and expensive (been there, got the T-shirt...)

I've put a Scorpion 5020 450kv in my Raptor 90SE. Goes like stink! The 520kv would give too much head speed with a raptor but helis with a larger main gear should be fine. The diameter of this motor is 61mm so you need to be sure it'll fit in the frames. The shaft is also very long which is good as this allows you to support it in a bearing block to maintain mesh under load.

    Si
RAPTOR 90 SE FBL e-conversion - wow, just wow!
TREX 700N - superb (and thirsty!)
TREX 550E FBL - lovin' it

FunJet Ultra - now busted down to 4s from 6s following noise complaints!
    HET F16 with 6s 70mm EDF - crazy power
